"I used Brook Road Community Center for a baby shower event and the place was not clean at all. I did view the facility before making a deposit and it was clean therefore I reserved it. But after I reserved it, I was told they can not promise there will be tables and chairs available for use. If this is the case, REMOVE it from your contract! I had to rent tables and chairs of my own. Also, they need to fix the floors that are duck taped due to it lifting. The part that behooved me was the LIVE baby roaches inside of the refrigerator and the LIVE roach that crawled out of the drawer when opened. Along with a dead roach smashed on the inside of the drawer. If you want a clean location, skip this community center. Although the outside is kept up, the inside of the location needs some TLC and a good cleaning. Also, they do not provide you with ANYTHING to clean as indicated on their checklist and contract. You have to bring your own broom, dust pan, cleaning supplies (to be expected), hand soap, paper towels and trash bags. I was told they would provide us with this to start us out but to bring our own to make sure we have enough. Again, if you are NOT going to provide your customers with the basic needs please remove it from your contract and checklist. On the positive side, the place is spacious to host an event for about 60 people (if using round tables). You may be able to seat more using rectangle tables. Please be sure to take heed to this review before renting."

"I was invited to a gala birthday event at the rec center. Initially I wasn't sure how this was going turn out. BUT HONEY..... it was perfect! The space is open which allows you to be very creative. It has rooms off the main area with a refrigerator and sink and space if needed for catering. There is plenty of parking and areas outside for children to play. It's easy to get to AND you are supporting Prince George's County!!! That's a win-win situation. Please note the rec center space is like a blank canvas, its empty and must be furnished by you. The rental fee is reasonable and affordable, especially when compared to other facilities. I highly recommend it for events. I will be renting it for a birthday shower."

"Went here today to celebrate our holiday Eid ul Fitr, the park is nice, the only problem is it can handle a large crowd with parking. My daughter parked a block away on a side street because of not enough parking in the park itself. Overall though a very nice park."

"This park has really gone down hill. Medium park with picnic area, football field, basketball court and play ground. It was a joy to bring our young children here but for the past couple of months maintenence has been SEVERELY lacking. Slides and swings are filthy. Trash over flowing and everywhere. Maintenence is there however they don't clean. Myself and my sister in law have cleaned the park so that our children and others can have a clean safe area to play. I have included some pictures but they don't show the full depth of trash and filth."

"Ample, clean space for your next event. Facilities include: separate restrooms; handicap accessible, tables and chairs on premises; refrigerator and sink (no stove or cooktop); ample free parking. The only grill is located 200 ft from the building. There is no playground for the kids."
