"I will never come here alone again. I was scouting locations for a future dog play date when I came here. Unless you are a resident of this area or using a police vehicle, per the parking restrictions you’ll have to find parking around the corner. Per the parking signs, you can park closer on Sunday but there are two churches on this street so I doubt you’ll find closer parking then. Although the park is technically between a church and a police station, it’s tucked away. Typically this would be appealing but the vibe was off. I arrived with my dog around 4pm on a Thursday and as I rounded the corner there were two individuals engaged in some questionable activity. I was born and raised in DC in the 80s, so I knew to keep my head down and get on about my business. There were separate small and large dog areas in the dog park. However, there were a million of gnats (and possibly mosquitoes due to the season and rain) flying around and the majority were near the entrance to the dog park. It’s obvious the dog park had been well used and not the type of place for my dog and his friends."
"Large grassy park. Usually safe, occasionally littered. Separate spaces for large and small dogs. The dog park area is covered with fine gravel. Currently the water does not work in the small area. Parking is plentiful. This dog park is usually empty."
"Hidden Gem in D.C. It's a great place for a picnic or if you enjoy nature a great place to connect. The park is not large. It feels very safe being by a police precinct. There is a dog park and basketball court next to the park. A nice place to watch squirrels at if you are into nature."
"Nice park if you live nearby. They have separate large dog and small dog areas. Wish they had grass though."
