"We visited this place on a whim on a Wednesday night. It was me, my elderly mother, my husband, and my 24 year old nephew. We were visiting DC area and stayed at MGM. We didn't know what to expect. We all had a blast! Jimmy and Rachel were hilarious and super talented! My nephew requested Tool and they tried but it wasn't meant to be so they played Metallica Enter Sandman!! One person kept requesting Taylor Swift and for $1 they would stop and start again for another $1! It was like a bidding war until I paid $50 to NOT hear Taylor Swift!! Everyone was laughing and having a great time! We will DEFINITELY go again!"
"This was our first time here and we were not sure what to expect. If you are looking for a place to have an intimate night with lots of conversation you may want to do something else. However, if you are looking for a place to sing, laugh, drink and have a great time, then Bobby McKey's is definitely the place for you. The musicians kept the house rocking all night - they are definitely talented and have an awesome sense of humor. Great venue for birthdays, Bachelorette parties, etc. Food is what you would expect in a bar. Service was really good. Thanks to my boss for coming up with such a great idea to come to Bobby McKey's! We will definitely be back!"
"Crazy talented people! You can request songs, drink, and eat good finger food. I would suggest to get tickets in advance, preferably at the main floor tables or rail bars because you can’t see the show from the non view tables and you’d have to stand for hours at the bar and space is limited. My recommendation to the bar is to have more screens for those people to see the show."
"We went to the family friendly event 4-6pm (the parents can still buy alcohol). The parking garage above costs $15. Check-in was smooth but the seats are assigned so you wait a bit until previous groups are seated. The buffet was vegetarian friendly with cheese pizza, Mac&cheese, salad, and fruit. As for the main event, the pianists were great. Danny K is a great talent as he not only plays piano but drums, harmonica, fiddle, and even beatbox. They take requests and tips, but if there are too many they may not get to it. We had fun as a family, highly recommended."
"This is always a super fun outing with a group of friends, especially if they enjoy cutting up, listening to a variety of music, and singing along. The musicians are playing for tips, so they tend to play the songs requested that have the largest tip attached. I recommend bringing cash for tips if you plan to request music. Caution: If they don’t know your song, they may not opt to play it, or if they do—the lyrics may be creative. They now have a Venmo option for tips and requests, but it seems like they stick with playing cash requests over Venmo requests. Upon arriving, you must present an ID at the door. Anyone with sensitive or young ears may appreciate some earplugs, because all the instruments are mic’d up. There are a few seating options. The most popular are the floor tables which are directly in front of the stage. The tables sit 12 people, so be prepared to be a little cuddly with your neighbor. There is not enough room to turn your chair to face the stage, so you can opt to crane your neck to watch or make eye contact across the table and sing power ballads to/at them. Hey, no one said it has to be weird. The floor chairs are sturdy, they do not have armrests (ideal for junk in the trunk), and the lumbar area is open. Option 2, is the high top bench seating behind the floor tables. The benches along the pony wall have padding. The chairs are metal with no armrests, and they CAN be turned to face the stage so you don’t have to strain your neck—but hey you can still sing to your friends if that’s your jam. Option 3, is the second floor balcony which patrons can stand and watch. They serve American food at standard National Harbor prices for food and alcohol as well as there Coca-Cola products. The restrooms are clean and well stocked. Be prepared to lose your voice singing along to your favorite music buddies! This type of event is definitely my cup of tea!"
