"This place is ridiculous. Signed up for kids ballet classes twice, once was canceled the other class teacher never showed up. Had a fantastic woodworking class but they kicked the kids out of it (not because of misbehavior but because they had forgotten to put an age limit on, so 4 classes in they were removed in the middle of class, very heartbreaking as the class was fantastic and they were actually learning stuff) now they have been told they can’t use the basketball court for anything other than basketball, even in the middle of the day when no one else is using it. Surprising as it is impossible to find an employee when you want one, but they sure are around to make sure the facility isn’t used. I am so sick of this waste of space"
"Like many DC facilities it is showing its age and could use some work. The parking lot is a bit small especially when classes are going on. However, I’m glad it is there because it has lots of room for classes which is nice."
"One star is generous! This Center is the backwater of DPR. (I've visited other Centers for comparison -- they are funded and equiped.) For several years I've gone twice a week for free YMCA sponsored Senior fitness programs because DPR provides ZERO Senior-centric activities. The Center is underutilized and most rooms locked because they're opened primarily for high-fee PRIVATE venders during evening hours. These are verifiable (and photographed) statements of fact. The Center, with 27" doors, was NOT ADA accessible having a disfunctional chair-lift, until late October'16 when "forced" because of needed early-voter accessibility to improve. Persons who gave 3 or 4 stars had to be "ringers". The usually locked "Senior Lounge" (photo) is often cluttered and used for storage. 23 Jan.'18 Since the previous posting the room has been "de-cluttered". A DC Council Member did a walkthrough which resulted in increased free senior activities by the YMCA (not DPR) and another CM funded a Program Manager for Seniors. Nevertheless (go to DPR's website on this Center ) DPR claims amenities that DO NOT exist: Indoor 1/2 court BB; an exercise facility; computer lab; and an operational woodshop."
"I went with my 2.5 daughter for the Halloween party, it was perfect for my little one! free drinks, ice cream, candys of course, music and photos to have a wonderful memory!"
"Clean with lots of activities for a wide variety of people. Personally enjoy the Amateur Telescope Workshop by the National Capital Astronomers."
