Harbor East Delicatessen & Pizzeria

"I was excited to try the crab cakes here until right after I ordered, when I noticed that they leave crab cakes out unrefrigerated for a while after they prepare them. That is unacceptable and against health code. Call me racist, but this is very common with Latino-owned business (my wife is Latina, they are great people in many ways, but food 90% of the time is badly handled). I hope they change their practices here since I am not the only one who has written a bad reference about such practices."

"Service was nice and fast! Food tasted good and nice portion sizes! Pizza tasted great and had a nice chew. The cheesesteak had a tiny spice to it, which was yummy. The sandwich loaded with meat!"

"Looks nice from the outside (as most places do in Harbor East), but the food here is barely edible and the water dangerous. I don't know if it's usually like this or due to unfortunate timing, but the fountain machine poured out sewage-tasting water. The food here is so unbelievably old, tasteless, and loaded up with chemically cheese that it's rendered almost inedible. If you are looking for great deli food in the area, head to Attman's (which coincidentally is opening a location up in Harbor East), and if you're looking for great pizza go to Angeli's or even the Whole Foods across the street that funnily enough has by far cheaper and higher quality pizza. My guess is the only way this business brings in any customers is from unaware hotel guests down the street, certainly nobody in their right mind would return."

"I’m visiting from Texas and staying at the hotel next-door. Because my stomach is sensitive, I travel with my food. But as I’ve been walking my dog the last three days, I’ve passed by this deli and the food looked and smelled so good that I decided to try it today. I am so glad I did! I got the crabcake sandwich combo and I got some crab soup. The crab cake is gigantic! And it’s so good that he doesn’t need any sauce on it. The soup is wonderfully nourishing. The portion sizes for everything is so amazing! Everything taste, so good !! I am so glad I stopped by!"

"I ordered a grilled shrimp sub (under cheesesteak) with a side of chicken noodle soup delivery. When I received my order all I got was bread and shrimp and a super salty and bland chicken noodle soup. If you’re gonna have a shrimp sub under cheesesteaks menu then you need to at least have CHEESE…. I called to confirm if this is suppose to have cheese and they told me “it normally does but you have to specify which cheese”. Never in my life have I been so disappointed in food that I ordered.. To be honest I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone."
