"UPDATED IN RESPONSE TO THE COMMENT BELOW: Don, the state inspector has had to investigate you so many times that he knew exactly who I was calling about without my having to even name your sham business. You make sure to not have any mechanical records on the vehicles you sell, you buy vehicles with recent inspection stickers so that you don’t need to inspect them. You deflect and redirect back to the previous owner or inspection site. The state inspector is well aware of your business model and your lack of ethics. One day you will slip up and get caught. It’s not that they don’t know what you’re doing it’s finding the evidence to hold you accountable. I’m the wrong one to mess with Don, I have no issues laying out your dirty laundry. You could have simply taken the car back and refunded me when it broke down the same day we bought it. Instead you’ve chosen to drag this out and I will warn everyone I can to stay away from you. The owner and his employees are about as crooked as they come. Think Matilda’s dad and go anywhere else to buy a vehicle."

"PSA: RUN!! Don't walk, run away from Cobb Auto located at 448 Swanton Rd, St Albans City, VT 05478, whatever you do just stay away from this auto dealer. What he does should and probably illegal. We bought a car from Don Cobb 2/7/2023. We drove it less than 20 miles before it overheated and completely broke down. I called Don and he refused to do anything for me stating I bought the car as is. We brought the car to a mechanic who noted metal flakes in the coolant a sign that Don had put Barr's Head Gasket Seal in the car. I was mortified and called Don who refused to do anything. My husband and son lost their second jobs without a car to get too work. I continued to call Don begging him to make this right and just take the car back and refund me. He said no, so I left a review. Only then did he call me upset about my review telling me he is ordering parts. Our mechanic already ordered parts but I told Don to bring them to our mechanic. Appreciating he was trying to do at least something even though he was clearly angry I left a bad review and demanded I remove it. I was obviously not trusting they were the right parts or quality parts which turned out to be correct. Our mechanic could not use the water pump as it was not the right size. Bottom line it's now 3/21/23 and our car is finally drivable. It's not fully fixed as there are many other issues with it. Our first round of repairs is over $700 I feel like I should note most concerning conditions that Don Cobb and his employees attempted to hide on the vehicle. They applied the tape over the two front axles to hide their condition, they need to be replaced asap. They poured Barr's Head Gasket Seal to hide a leak, which clogged up all the hoses and caused the car to overheat. They applied paint covering numerous rust spots, at this point even with the $700 in repairs this car will not pass inspection. Don is a crooked auto sales man do not trust him, nor anyone who works for him. Trust me I am following this up with the DMV, Attorney General, and the town of Saint Albans."

"BUYER BEWARE---- I purchased a car that Don explained to me needed some minor rocker repair "around $400". I took Don at this word and purchased the car. Turns out the rocker repair will be 2,000! I called Don to explain and he asked me to bring the car down so he could take it to "his guy" who will give a better price for the needed rocker repair as he acknowledged that was part of the deal. (Car also needs more work than just rockers...) I dropped the car off, Don had it looked over by "his guy" and it came back at a $2,000 repair.... I asked Don if he would make this right by refunding a portion of the sale or helping with the repair cost-- he was quick to say no. Their company motto states that they "treat customers the right way"- these are hollow words. If you choose to do business with Cobb Auto make sure you double check everything they tell you- but I'd recommend simply choosing a dealership that does value customers and that will stand behind the cars they sell. It would have been a simple fix- Don could have stood behind the car he sold me along with his word and helped with the repair cost. Then this would have been a positive review, but unfortunately he kicked me to the curve. BUYER BEWARE"
