"Rockwell’s Retreat is such a magical inn and the best way to visit Vermont. The rooms are amazing and you can feel the love and care the Inn Keepers put into making sure you feel welcome and pampered. It is serene and perfect place to escape to recharge. Make sure to go stay there, you will be glad you did!"
"Cozy, comfortable, picturesque from the moment you drive through the covered bridge. Kevin & Sue are amazing hosts. Yummy breakfasts, fireplaces in every room, and lots of books and games for cozy nights in. The location is quaint with so much to do nearby. We will continue to come back to this incredible experience!"
"We were here visiting the inn as part of the Vermont Country Inns Holiday Tour to support the local food bank. We did not stay over but did have a chance to walk through the inn including some of the guest rooms. If you love local history this one has it, including Norman Rockwells studio right out back. The staff are very proud of the inn's pedigree and took great delight in talking to guests today. They also get kudos for BEST chocolate chip cookies."
"Having just returned from a stay at Rockwell's Retreat, we cannot say enough about how wonderful a stay we had there. The accommodations and amenities are first-rate, the hosts are marvelous, and the location makes for a first-rate experience. Do not pass up the chance to take in Norman Rockwell's carefully restored work studio- in concert with Kevin's passionate and authentic narration based on first-hand accounts from former models and neighbors; information he used to authentically recreate the studio in order to pay homage to the artist and his times. Either the inn or the museum would be reason enough to visit; together they make for an unforgettable experience in a beautiful and iconic section of southern Vermont. As an added bonus, the Robert Frost Stone House museum is just a few miles down the road. Do yourself a favor and stay at Rockwell's Retreat!!"
"Absolutely magical! You want a special Vermont experience, this is the place. Rolling mountains? Check. Picturesque New England church? Check. World-famous fly fishing river? Check. Horses grazing and cows lowing in the distance? Check. Covered bridge? Check. 18th c. lodging? Check. And that's all from the front porch of Rockwell's Retreat. Kevin and Sue have preserved and maintain an absolutely idyllic inn. Add to the beautiful setting that you're staying in Norman Rockwell's former home (or you might choose his studio), and it doesn't get much better than this. The house and grounds are spotless, tastefully decorated in era-appropriate style, with details that make you feel like you're staying with close friends. Kevin's breakfasts are fabulous, and his knowledge of Rockwell history adds authenticity to the whole experience. Just go."
