"I have stayed twice and will be back! The rooms are amazing- plenty of space and comfortable. It is a spotless house. The breakfast is beyond all expectations, absolutely delicious!!! Great location and Bernadette is most welcoming and gracious!"
"Bernadette and David were such sweet human beings. The decorations made me and my family feel at home and the room was so cozy! If we ever come back to Meredith in the future, we’ll be sure to book a stay with them!"
"What a wonderful stay! Bernadette was very accommodating of a late check in, and so pleasant to communicate with. The Ballard House Inn truly has all of the extra little touches you would expect. Breakfast was also DELICIOUS- I had the lemon blueberry pancake french toast and it was to die for. The view from breakfast is beautiful too, I would love to come back in warmer months and be able to eat breakfast on the porch. Beds were so comfortable and room was spotless. Definitely would make a trip back!"
"This place admittedly exceeded my expectations. This B&B looked even better to me than the pics in their website. I took pics of my own to show my wife. She was jealous. But we can certainly come back at another time. I had a choice of staying here or where we typically stayed in town. I dreaded going back to the other place as the rooms we previously stayed in (stayed in various rooms) were not comfortable both visually and physically. I wanted to rest both mentally and physically. Got neither there. It was just a room. Upon arriving here, I was greeted by Bernadette (host) who had a very welcoming aura about her. She gave me a quick tour of the house and my room. Being my first B&B, I felt very assured in the first 20 seconds of walking in. It was a very cozy and inviting house. The common areas were very comfortable, welcoming and relaxing. Once in my room, I immediately noticed how it felt more upscale than what I was expecting; the bedsheets, the décor, the view out the window, the in-room fireplace, the whole look and feel of it. The bathroom, although small, was adequate and CLEAN. In fact, the whole room was super clean. I travel quite a bit and have stayed in top tier hotels. While I can't comment for the other rooms, this room was very well put together. The towels were even nice and soft - much better than your typical large chain hotels. The room was cozy and comfortable. It was certainly MUCH better than the previous hotel we stayed at. Not even close. The other hotel had the benefit of location. But this B&B had mental and physical relaxation for me. I'd gladly forego the location since it was only a 2 min drive away. The only downside to my room was the soft bed. My preference is on the more firm side. It was too soft for my liking. Next, I went to the outside patio. It looks recently built and overlooks a great view. Seriously, you could just sit there, have a few drinks and watch the sunset. She had beer, wine, coffee and various sodas in the common area fridge. While I'm not much of a drinker, I was tempted to just get a drink, sit back there and vegetate with my Youtube videos. But I had to run and get dinner (see where I ate). Unfortunately, I missed breakfast since I had to leave fairly early. But Bernadette left a "to go" box for me with, I presume, a blueberry lemon bread as another reviewer had mentioned. I'm not very good at knowing what these things are called. But I'm really very good at eating them when they're THAT good! Suffice it to say, I will likely return when I am back in the area. But, most likely, it will be with my wife next time."
"Went to a concert in town and got a room to avoid a late night drive. Close to the venue and such a cute inn! Bernadette was wonderful and even left us out some delicious blueberry lemon bread in the morning when we said we'd be leaving before breakfast. Definitely want to come back to the inn for a longer stay and actually spend time in the area. Very clean and cozy."
