"If you are familiar with the typical roadside motels of the 1950s and 1960s, you should have a basic idea of what to expect of the accommodations of this motel. This is not a resort, but a no-nonsense place to stay that offers the essentials,. It's a little dated, but serves up plenty of nostalgia for the roadtrips of childhood. When I was delayed at the Canadian border later than expected and couldn't make it all the way home that night, I was grateful to find an affordable place to stay last minute along the way that was clean, had a comfortable bed, and air conditioning that worked on a miserably hot day. But what made this a standout experience for me was that a few weeks later, I realized I had left behind a ring that had a lot of sentimental value for me. I had little hope of finding it, but when I contacted the motel, not only had they found it and put it aside, but the owner put it in the mail for me the very next day and didn't even want payment for the postage. He even followed up to make sure it had arrived. This to me is the type of service that makes me happy to support a small family business like Wells River Motel, and if I find myself in the area again, I will definitely book a room here for the night."

"My wife and I been there twice. I love the place and the owners are very nice. They put a lot of work into the place and they respect their customers. It’s a very homey and comfortable place. I would recommend this place to everyone. My family will continue to come when we are around the location. We will also go out of our way to stay at this location cause it is a great place. "I appreciate hospitality and cleanliness more than anything else an accommodation can offer. Traveled to over 80 countries stayed in $$$ expensive resorts and also locally owned places. If you want a modern looking accommodation, look elsewhere. If you want a charming, welcoming and clean place - look no further. Every room has a theme - train, lighthouse, bird house... I felt like I was staying in my grandparents house - a bit outdated but very welcoming and charming. It matches amazingly the town of Wells River which is also like stepping back in time. The manager is very friendly and helpful, he came to personally talk to us after check in and honestly made me feel like I am visiting his home."
