"I recently received a bill for a routine ultrasound screening ECC referred me to within the Elliott System. The bill was over TEN TIMES the national average for this procedure, most of which was billed under a facility fee which means insurance will Not cover it. A facility fee is not appropriate as this not an inpatient or emergency procedure but rather an outpatient exam scheduled weeks ahead of time. My insurance validated the same exact exam would have cost $200 in Salem NH rather than $2,400 at Elliott. This type of surprise billing is under scrutiny at the federal and state level in the legislature as it is considered potentially predatory and hurts patients. Despite various calls to Elliott, the company (yes, this is a business) refused to reduce my bill anywhere near the national average. While I am happy with the clinical care at this practice, I no longer trust Elliott."
