Reviews of Catholic Medical Center
"As I sit here in the ED my kidney only gets worse. The staff is non-professional. Six hours with one question asked. I reported a man having chest pain with shortness of breath. The staff said " we will get to him" The nurse were rude, self centered and could care less about patients. I have been a ED nurse for thirty years and.woulsneglet patients in pain MY diagnosis was pyl9"
"From a staffing/nurse perspective: I initially had issues with communication for an application I had submitted for a nursing job. This was immediately addressed by the head of the recruiting department, who personally called me and made a wonderful and professional effort to remedy the situation. My salty 1 star Google review turned into in one of the best recruitment experiences I've had so far in my career."
"I was there to have a baby. I had to get shipped there from a smaller town, as my baby ended up being a preemie. From the second I got there, I could tell they were very judgmental. Unfortunately I have a past with addiction, I am a recovering addict and they made my stay there, & anyone who came to visit us and the baby very uncomfortable. First thing was the fact if we left the floor to grab food or anything or anyone came to visit us, they/we would have to call security up to get searched while there are other people coming in and out of the Mom's Place and NICU. It was certainly a way to feel embarrassed & stuck out completely. I honestly felt like I was a prisoner my entire stay. I can't imagine how they would treat a women that may have a child there while in prison. I ended up getting discharged before my baby. Thankfully she didn't have to have any help with medicine or machines. She only had to stay the standard 5 days for observation. While I was there with her before discharge most of the nurses barely even let me take care & feed my own baby, they also act like they are perfect, I was a first time mom, I was learning everything its as all new to me, & I didn't even feel comfortable asking questions, because of the fact I highly felt the judgmental attitudes. There was also one night nurse that was super loud, & reeked of alcohol. Every time she came in the room, she'd practically be screaming, we told her to please quiet down multiple times as the baby was sleeping but she kept ignoring that request. I went home the day I got discharged, & I came back the next day to stay the next two nights with her before she got discharged.. I was practically crying the day I was getting discharged because of how uncomfortable I was and the attitudes I felt from the nurses. Discharge papers took almost an hour to complete too. I did go back there to spend the next two night with my baby, the first nights I got there, I automatically felt uncomfortable the second I got there. Again, security searched me to the point I was only able to leave the floor like 4 times a day, because I was "bothering" security while anyone else can come and go. There was one time I waited 45 minutes - 1 hour before security came when all I had was my cell phone in my hand. I had no pockets at all I wasn't wearing jeans as I just had a baby. There was one time my father came to visit us and he got a coffee from the DD that is actually inside the hospital and was told he couldn't bring it in. They originally had me in a private room with its own bathroom and they told me I would have the same room when I got back, that didn't happen. Almost the entire NICU floor was empty and they had me in the room right in front of the nurses station with no privacy what so ever, or bathroom in the room. I couldn't change my clothes or anything. I even asked if there was another room I could have, and they stated "no" when you could see there were empty rooms the entire floor. The nurse working kept coming in the room and telling me to "go to sleep" while I was quietly on the phone with my boyfriend, I was not being loud or anything I just had bad anxiety being there I wanted to talk to someone. It was hard to sleep there being that uncomfortable and hearing the nurses talk all night, as there station was right there. Thankfully the next night I was able to book a hotel room right across town. It was sad at the fact I wanted to be around my newborn, but the nurses at this hospital made me feel that bad. Another thing, there is a wall in the NICU It has pictures of all the baby's and their parents & how long the baby may of stayed there. Yes there were some with just the 5 days. They never asked us to take our picture or anything. Of course I wasn't gonna say anything just thought they would've done it to every family that would be there. Just an example of how terrible they make you feel. There's so much more, but there's a character limit in reviews. CMC, recovering addicts shouldn't get treated like prisoners On the plus side my baby is doing AMAZING"
"I had such a positive experience giving birth at The Mom’s Place. From the moment my husband and I walked in to the when we left with our newborn daughter, we were given the upmost care from such a kind and positive medical staff. Each day/night nurse gave us excellent medical care and attention all while being calm, nurturing, and helpful. Never once did I feel bad about asking for help, clarification or advice being a first time mom. I ended up needing a c-section after a long labor and the midwife and nurses were so supportive during the process. I felt safe and well taken care of during and after the procedure. I can”t say enough nice things about the staff and experience at “The Mom’s Place.”"
