"Have been trying to reach my doctor and finally after 45 minutes on hold and hung up. Sent a message through my portal 5 days ago and no response from anyone. You really need to improve your call center or have an option where they take your phone number and return your call. Very frustrating"
"I had a colonoscopy scheduled months in advance. The referral was made by the gastro department. I get a call two days before my scheduled procedure, saying that I need a new referral from my pcp. I don’t have a pcp at the clinic bc the last one I had quit, and no one informed me until I showed up for a physical that day. They know I don’t have a pcp, yet they expect me to get a referral from one two days before my procedure. Then they tell me I can get one from the gastro department but then inform me that there are no appts available before the day of my colonoscopy. So what do they do? They cancel my procedure. I spent a lot of money getting the food for the low fiber diet and all the meds I’d need for the prep. Completely unprofessional, lazy, and rude."
"I am writing with a mixed review. I will start with the positive first. I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy and, on the day of the procedures, had a flawless and seamless experience with Dr Meyers and her team. From check in to check out, I received caring, competent, positive, and thorough care. Outside of that, my experiences with scheduling/written instructions/getting answers to questions/getting prescription sent to pharmacy- was exceptionally challenging. I experienced long wait times on the phone (up to 40 minutes), multiple messages with no response (left two with no response), confusion with written instructions (prep instructions for procedures had several contradictions requiring me to call) and one scheduling confusion. This was trying and time consuming. It is too bad because the actual care I got when there with Dr Meyers was fantastic."
"The worst experience interfacing with a medical departing in my entire life. I am urging anyone who is considering this establish to go anywhere else. This team's dismissiveness and belittling behavior towards my symptoms and constant plea for help could have been detrimental to my health and safety if I did not seek medical attention elsewhere. I mostly blame the medical coordinators and team of nurses as they are the only people you can get in touch with at this facility and I believe there is a chance they do not properly communicate to the Doctors. Jason Obey and his entire nurse and administrative team did not take my medical issues seriously nor was I prioritized after they could not find a solution for me. Fortunately, I was connected with another doctor at a different establishment who was genuinely concerned with my constant issues. He schedule a colonoscopy immediately which determined I have a Gastric Submucosal Mass underneath the lining of my colon which needs to be removed due to the size/position and regardless of determining the exact type. Luckily, my new care takers were able to start the process of determining the type of mass and steps to remove it MONTHS BEFORE the date Jason and his team scheduled a colonoscopy for me. The lack of care from this group is shameful. After cancelling my appointments with Dartmouth, I received a follow up call from one of Jason’s coordinators. I kindly explained to the woman that I had cancelled through the portal and provided an explanation as to why. She was extremely rude, unapplogetic, and ultimately hung up on me."
"One word: excellent. I had to have an endoscopy and from scheduling to check-in to nursing care, anesthesia, and the professionalism and thoroughness of Dr. Harnsberger, I was very, very pleased. No discomfort of any kind, no unanswered questions, and no unclear directions. I have relatives in the medical profession and am well educated myself, and so I am someone who likes information, professionalism, excellent bedside manner, and very clean facilities. I was very pleased with the entire experience. This was my first time ever going to DHMC and I plan to return as needed. I thought to write a review because there is only one other review posted and it does not give accolades. DHMC is an excellent facility, with excellent staff, and I received excellent care and frankly, the parking is MUCH easier parking than Boston and free (all Boston hospitals have paid parking...)."
