"This is a really wonderful (and challenging) hike. Lots of different trail terrain, so come prepared. The average hike time is 3 hrs 13 mins, and elevation gain is almost 1800 ft -- doable for novice hikers who come prepared with snacks and water, taking rests as needed. A note for those bringing dogs: The top of the trail has quite a few long, sloping, smooth rock features that are a scramble for people, but can be quite challenging for some dogs -- larger dogs in particular could struggle going down to find footing. Take it slow, be deliberate, and bring plenty of water to avoid injury and overheating with your sweet pups!"
"Some of the greenest hiking you'll do. So much as you near the shelter you expect a leprechaun to jump out into the trail. This is a solid hike. Mostly uphill the whole way. Parking at the trail head on SR350 is a working farm driveway. So be respectful of the roadway. The are hay wagons and log trucks that travel it daily ... leave it clear."
"hard trail β 3 miles to the top of mt abraham basically straight up with scrambling for the last mile. incredible views from the top!"
"Loved this hike. The small parking lot accommodates 10 or so cars. Trail is clearly marked and connects with the Long Trail. Easy to moderate until scramble near the summit. Battell Shelter at the 2 mile mark. Microspikes needed due to snow and ice. Gorgeous 360 views at the summit."
"Excellent hike to excellent view. Moderate grade except for the last little scramble on long trail. Nice lean to along the way."
