"After dropping a son back off at UVM on a Monday morning, we hoped to see something new to us in the Burlington area. We called the museum and reached William Parkinson and his wife, who were more than happy to open up and give us a very relaxed and informative tour. The one room museum is full of great photographs and artifacts related to the fort and cavalry. Mr Parkinson is very knowledgeable and passionate about the history and preservation/restoration of the site. He even took us on a drive around the fort/base explaining the buildings, their past and present uses. This is a hidden gem and interesting part of VT and US Army history. Check it out!"
"An amazing little museum run by such nice people! My kid and I were able to park and go inside, there was a lot of amazing photos and artifacts. The man who ran the museum (I unfortunately don't remember his name) was passionate and well informed. He was a delight to talk to and explained many interesting things. I look forward to going back again, would give it 10 stars if I could. The museum itself is in the former pump house, so its not giant. Additionally it might not be exciting for very young children. I would expect to spend between 30 minutes to an hour depending on how detailed you would like to be. Additionally they are working on repairing the water tower and might be able to begin tours again in 2025."
