"We went from the quarry parking to the end of the linear trail, then turned right and walked back along the road, past White's Beach and back to the quarry, à very nice walk, but à little long, 10 km we think, take water and a snack!"
"If you're looking for a less traveled, more secluded walk with the potential for some good bird viewing - this is for you. It's 1.7 miles one way, if you choose to go all the way to the road. The trail was a bit closed in/overgrown in some parts, but mostly flat; had to watch our step for roots and such. We did see and hear plenty of birds though (redwing blackbirds, an osprey in a nest, redstarts). Only found 1 tick afterwards, among 6 humans and 2 dogs."
"This is an old rail bed that goes through a WPA. I little too rough for a road bike but fine on My bike or walking. In the spring it is a stopover for thousands of migrating birds."
"This is a really nice easy walk on an old rail bed. The walk is straight, flat, and goes through some beautiful marshland. Perfect for an easy stroll, bike ride, or walking the dogs. There are lots to look at and listen to, as there are many varieties of birds, including an osprey nest. Plus, there are beavers in the marsh area. The only things to consider are a couple mud prone spots and the narrowness of the trail in some spots, so if you're passing by someone going the opposite direction (we have this issue with our over friendly dog). All in all, a great nature walk. Nothing more extreme than that."
