"I don't know why I was expecting dunes. Like the kind you would drive a dune buggy on, but I was. And that's not what I got. These dunes are small. And wooded. In fact, if there hadn't been a sign identifying the dunes so you wouldn't walk there, I wouldn't have even thought that they were dunes. I've visited the park in the off-season and there was no one around. I noticed that there are not a lot of parking spots, it must fill up in the summer. So you might wanna get here early."
"This beach has the best natural sand in the state. The views are amazing. It is wheel chair accessible along with a special wheel chair for the sand and water. The playground is small bit fun along with a slide that goes down the bank. I walk to the beach every day before the park opens thay I can with my dog Luna. Dogs are not allowed on the beach when open. The water is very high this year due to the flooding we've had this summer. But there has been enough beach to play on. And a big thanks to Regan, Maddie, Olive and the other help for keeping a clean beach with the added touch of flowers."
"Alburgh Dunes is actually a BARRIER beach right along lake Champlain! Dunes, Bogs and Beach. A nice hiking trail too! Plenty of birds, and native plants/ flowers."
"Don’t miss this state park. They just completed a major renovation that includes a new changing rooms, parking area, kids playground, drop off area, handicap parking area, and remote toilet room. The south facing sand beach is a great place to swim, play or just take a nice walk on the beach. The beach runs along the southern tip of Alburgh and is close to a mile long. Enjoy the lake views and the people watching during July and August. The park is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day with staff on site. Outside of that time frame they usually leave the gates open for people to enjoy the park. I always make a visit in September and October to walk on the beach and enjoy the peace and quiet of the area."
"A bit out of the way and be sure to travel slowly once you leave rt 129. The parking lit near the beach does not offer a lot of spaces, but you can unload your belongings and the park in the upper lot. There are plenty of porta-potties and also public grills. The beach area is expansive and has beautiful dunes and rocky areas. The water was beautiful!"
