"I've just become self-employed, and it is the first time that I haven't had life assurance cover as it was always covered with my job. I saw an advert for Polly on Instagram and thought it would be a good place to understand the costs and the cover. I completed the form and was told I'd get a call back for more details. I got a call around an hour later, and the person introduced themselves from Polly. He told me that he'd need to take more details to give an accurate quote. I was happy to do this, and we went through the process. Once we'd been through all the questions, I was told I was eligible for the standard cover and the monthly cost based on £250k cover. I then said, "great please can you send me the details to my email, and I can look at the ins and outs, discuss with my partner, and make a decision?" I then felt like I went into a hard sell. I was asked why I needed to discuss it with my partner, I said that I didn't make snap decisions over the phone and life insurance was something that I'd take my time to think about and choose the pest policy for me. I was then asked what I needed to discuss with my partner to stop me signing up now? It was then that I said I felt like I was being pressured to take cover over the phone now, and that wasn't something that I'd do. At that point, he became curt and said, "Fine, bye." I haven't received any details by email, and the whole experience has left a nasty taste in my mouth. If you don't want to sign up immediately and like to think big decisions over, then Polly isn't the company for you. Update: Jan 24 - Customer care did not reach out to me. Nor did I ever receive the quotes by email."
