"Update: After speaking to the insurance company the day after my visit I was assured that charge is covered under my insurance and that I should not have been charged and a refund should be given. Dr Davey has resolved the billing issue and promptly sent a refund. First I have always had a great experience with Dr Davey and his staff. That is until this last visit for a normal scheduled cleaning and I was charged for an up-charge cleaning service which was not discussed during my normal cleaning appointment. Dental code D4346 was charged and of course I was told by the receptionist it was not covered by insurance. I was not informed about this until the receptionist was checking me out. It is important to follow “inform before we perform” so that we have proper informed consent or refusal. Jill who was my new dental hygienist was great! The receptionist was very blunt in the fact that she said it would be insurance fraud if they only charged me for a standard cleaning (D1110?) Semi rude to be quite honest . $150 Charge - Out of pocket expense for this service I did not request nor consent to is not ethical. Will be contacting insurance company for insight. Hope to have this resolved and corrected and refunded."
