"We went on the Friend Ship with Cory and Eddie with our two adult boys. I was worried that it would be boring for them, and I was so wrong. Cory and Eddie were so knowledgeable and entertaining sharing about the history of Burlington and the area, as well as aquatic life and birds, and Lake Champlain. We usually do a hop on hop off tour of a new city to learn about the history, and this was a beautiful and unique way to learn and experience sailing on an amazing boat with a stellar crew."
"Absolutely awesome, it was so peaceful and beautiful. Our Captain Peri and (first mate?) Sophia were delightful guides and had some amazing stories to share with us. They made sure we were comfortable. They were very professional. The boats are GORGEOUS and well cared for. Definitely recommend this if you enjoy boats, beautiful views, and a fun crew."
"I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Whistling Man Schooner Co. My cousin and I decided to go on a trip to Vermont and I decided that booking a sunset sail with Whistling Man would be fun, and we were not disappointed! Of course it helped that we had amazing weather and a gorgeous sunset. But besides that, the captain (who also owns the business) and the first mate (Tex) were fantastic! They were fun, professional, great conversationalists, and seemed to truly enjoy talking to the guest and sharing information about sailing, Burlington, and Vermont. They seemed like seasoned pros when it came to sailing, and they took care of us during our time on board, which included serving us the wine and snacks that we brought with us. Not to mention that I think the price is extremely reasonable, even after tipping. I'd give them a 10 out of 10, and suggest anyone plan to go sailing with Whistling Man Schooner Co. when you are in Burlington!"
"My husband and I booked the sunset sail for the last evening of our honeymoon and it was hands down the best outing of our trip. We sailed with Corey and Eddie and their friendliness, kindness, and knowledge about the history of the lake, the boat, and local lore elevated the experience. They provided tumblers for champagne that we brought onboard and provided blankets and jackets for guests that got chilly when the sun was setting. I will not be surprised when this is more highly featured on all the “best of” lists for things to do in Vermont. We booked our sail about 2-3 weeks in advance and snagged some of the last spots available, so book early and enjoy the experience!"
"What an amazing experience!! Captain O is THE MAN! He provided a rich amount of history I wasn’t even aware of about Lake Champlain and I am a VT native. We chose to do the sunset cruise on The Friendship and we absolutely lucked out with the weather - not too cold, not too warm, sunset was incredible, and the moon was rising simultaneously. So so beautiful! I brought a sweater just in case I needed it, if you happen to forget one they have blankets on board. Aside from blankets, they also have any cutlery or glasses etc. that you may need. One of my favorite aspects of this cruise was that it’s BYO drinks and food. We drank Vermont wine while sitting back, relaxing, watching the classic colors of a Vermont sunset contrasted with the mountains in the background, and the view of the city of Burlington to the other side. I would 10/10 recommend this tour to anyone - whether you’re a local like myself or just visiting!"
