"I stayed here with my three children (ages 3, 13 and 14) and everyone had a really wonderful time. All three boys loved playing with the tadpoles in the swimmable pond, going for hikes through the woods and just hanging out in the unique home playing chess and checkers. I was a bit nervous the teenagers would be "bored" and on their phones the entire time but that was just not the case. We ran out of time to check out the local waterfalls and watch the sunset on top of the mountain so we will definitely be coming back!"

"This was our second stay at Breadloaf Mountain Cottage, and our third stay with Vermont Backcountry Cottages. William is the perfect host. He has obviously put tons of time and thought into his properties, and Breadloaf Mountain Cottage is the crown jewel. The view from the master bedroom alone is worth the trip. The cottage is our five year-old son's favorite place in the world; he loves hunting for salamanders in the pond, taking walks down to the White River, and going on hikes on one of the dozens of nearby trails. The cottage is also a short, beautiful drive to Burlington, or an even shorter drive up the Mad River Valley to Waitsfield and Waterbury. But mostly we love to just relax on the deck, cook in the perfectly sized kitchen, and watch our son have the time of his life. I could not recommend the cottage more highly, especially for families with kids who love exploring the outdoors."

"We stayed here with a bunch of friends for a birthday weekend. It was beautiful, serene and peaceful. Very simple and tastefully done. My favorite feature is the deck.. you look out upon a great swimming hole and trees beyond trees. So much fun to watch weather come and go. Will is a great host and super knowledgeable about the area and passionate about his home and Vermont in general."
