Green Acres Cabins

"Old-fashioned quiet and cozy. The hosts, Matt and Callie are wonderful. Great for families. We loved that there is no cell service so we weren't bothered by calls and texts. There is good wifi. The 7 cabins are about 100 years old, they sit at the back of about 10 acres so the Rte 5a road noise is minimal. Very clean and everything works great. Don't expect modern because the cottages are very old fashioned. On Saturdays and Sundays there are lots of straight-pipe motorcycles on Rte. 5a but their cacophony is barely audible from the cottages."

"My sister and I stayed here and loved it. Cabin was very clean, and the grounds are lovely. We don’t have kids, but liked listening to families playing on the lawn. And it was very quiet after dark."

"A friend of mine was thinking about renting a cabin for a night so we can spend the night together but it's a little bit farther than we can drive.. It looks quite romantic and I would love to spend some time with her there."

"Such an incredible view, comfortable and clean cabins, and the owners are so nice, inviting and helpful. They have a huge fire pit they had going at night when we stayed, wifi, and they have a beach across the street where you can launch a kayak/paddleboard from! They also provide a grill and all the kitchen stuff you need. The beds were so comfortable and the fans provided were perfect for white noise to block out all nighttime sounds. It's the perfect size to come back to and relax after a long day of adventures! My favorite part was waking up to the view from the kitchen/big front window..absolutely breathtaking! Such a peaceful little getaway."

"Firstly, let me begin by saying that the cabin itself was lovely. Aside from some of the windows not having locks on them, I have no issue with the cabin at all. It was rustic, quaint, clean and well equipped. My issues begin with the grounds themselves. Just outside our window we had a lovely view of pipes, a bush and a swing-set, something that, had the picture on the website been taken a few feet backward, would have shown. Additionally, some of the other pictures on the website are inaccurate as well. The picture of the docks isn't theirs because they don't own or have access to docks. Guests are expressly forbidden from going on either of the two docks adjacent to their property. They do offer a waterfront parcel across the street to which you can walk into the water. That is the best you can hope for unless you bring your own kayak, canoe or raft, as they do not offer those either. These cabins are situated very close together. So much so that while having my windows open I can plainly hear what my neighbors are saying. This leads me to my next and honestly my most important point. I drove all the way from New Jersey to Vermont to get some peace and quiet. This is not the place to do it. Look, I have kids, I get it, but I literally had screaming children in the cabin on my left and screaming children who live in the property next door. Thats not mentioning the fireworks. There is also a communal fire pit which, in theory sounds nice, but I did not come here to socialize and make friends, I came here to get away from people and unwind with my wife. Though we booked the cabin for a week, we left on day three. Bottom line, there was nothing relaxing about it. We booked another place. Frankly, we couldn't afford not too. If you are a family with kids looking for a place to get away, this could be a wonderful option. It is also great if you have multiple families looking to vacation together. However, if you are a couple looking for a quiet place to enjoy away from people, in my experience, this may not be the option for you."
