"I absolutely love Studio M. Everyone makes you feel so comfortable. Owner and all her Elf's are the best. I almost forgot to say the most important thing, Great Haircuts"
"I've been going to Michelle for more years than I can recall and love going there. Michelle is very professional, highly skilled and has years of experience. Well, not that many years. :) I currently live in Western Canada but when I travel east, I rearrange my business schedule to coincide with a hair appointment here. This is my favorite hair salon ever!"
"I would definitely go back to this salon again, and highly recommend it. I absolutely adored this salon. I booked it for my bridesmaids and myself for the morning of my wedding. Up until that day, Michelle kept good contact with me. She even asked when we needed to be done by and suggested a time for us to come in so that we could make leave by when we needed to. Both the make-up and hair were absolutely beautiful, my only wish now is that I want them to come with me everywhere to do my hair/makeup! Also, when we arrived that morning all the stylist were lined up to greet us. Michelle let us know the plan of who was going to be with which stylist. They also had a playlist of wedding/love songs on that really made it feel that much more special. The only downside I found is that if you want to do a test/trial run before the event, it is the same cost. I know some salons give discounts if you do a test/trial run before your event date. Otherwise though, it was a lovely wedding day salon experience."
"I was excited to discover this salon and really wanted to book them for my wedding day for myself and my bridesmaids. The owner, Michelle, was very personable, friendly, and prompt with her correspondence with me. However, several red flags were raised for me when she was not prepared to offer me a vendor contract, and she instead suggested we just go by what we had "talked about through emails." I was uncomfortable with this and requested that she have a contract drawn up seeing as I was going to spending around $1,000 at her salon. Michelle also raised some alarms with me when she brought up the salon's payment policy. They required a deposit of 50% of the total cost, including 15% gratuities, to hold the date. I responded that I was fine with this as long as I was given a copy of a legal contract. The real issue o the payment policy was that Michelle required the other 50% of the total, again including all tips, be paid IN FULL three days BEFORE the wedding day! How silly! I was surprised that anyone in the salon/beauty industry would ever think a client would be comfortable paying for everything in full plus gratuities well in advance of any work being done! A million things could happen the day of the wedding, including me showing up there with all bridesmaids and moms in tow to find they've taken my money and closed up shop, the stylists or makeup artists could do a horrible or lackluster job and we would not be able to negotiate prices or even not give them a gratuity because we would have already paid, etc. I communicated my dislike of this policy to Michelle who responded that we could iron out the details in the contract. This conversation took place on a Thursday afternoon. She said she would take the weekend to compose the contract and email it to me on Monday. After waiting two and a half weeks to receive the contract I finally called and inquired about it again. Michelle said she was still working on it. I again stated that I was very uncomfortable with paying for everything in advance, but would be happy to pay the initial deposit as soon as the contract was ready and would be glad to pay the rest on the day that satisfactory services were rendered. Michelle said she was unwilling to accommodate my request, and I said that was a "deal breaker" for me. I'd like to hope that Salon Studio M and Michelle would have done an excellent job and that I would have been thrilled with the results. However, I was unwilling to take the chance seeing as they could not offer me a professional contract or work with me to make sure that I was comfortable with the payment schedule and the risks I was incurring. Apparently she doesn't need me business."
