"Well let me preface this review by stating, "I am from the south!". So this review is coming from MY perspective. Our waiter was very abrupt, not friendly and kept telling us, 'I know you're in a hurry." Which we weren't but I am sure he was pushing us to leave. Food was ok - HUGE selection. The sweet potato fries were really good. The restaurant is located in an old operating firehouse so that really adds to the ambiance of your dining experience. When we were there they had it decorated for Halloween. It was done well."

"Came here for dinner on a Friday, place was packed but service was efficient. Ordered the spinach ravioli with spinach and mushrooms but received cheese ravioli instead which was still delicious. Family members enjoyed their picks from the large menu. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere."

"Great restaurant. The menu has so many items on it. And many of the items are very good. We had Fried Mushrooms, Chili Cheese Fries, Meatball Calzone, Chicken Tenders & Fries, a Burger and Hot Turkey with Gravy and Mashed Potatoes. All items we ate were amazing. Thank you for providing us with great food inspired by the heros of our past."

"A great local restaurant in Barre with a special atmosphere and good food! We were headed through Barre on our way to Woodstock and stopped at Ladder 1, and were very pleasantly surprised! The building was an old fire department and all the decor matched! In fact, the top floor itself was an inn that was entirely fireman themed as-well. The menu was enormous with enough sandwiches, pizzas, and burgers that anybody would find something they like. I tried the new peanut butter and jelly burger (my curiosity got the best of me), and actually really enjoyed it! Our whole table enjoyed the meals with no complaints whatsoever! Our waitress was extremely friendly too and made the overall meal even more enjoyable! Will definitely be back!"

"Very nice restaurant recommended by a local business to us. We were very happy we stopped in not only was a staff very nice, but so are some of the customers that were very friendly. Unfortunately I did not take any pictures of the food only for the fact that we’re so hungry And I went right to eating. I had a great roast beef sandwich while my wife had the Cobb salad. Definitely try this place out you will not regret it."
