Arethusa Falls Trailhead

"Holy cow this waterfall is huge! Tallest I've ever seen, excluding Niagra. Hike is a little challenging big not serious. Just took a day pack with snacks. Lots of dogs on the trail."

"A great spot to hike. Not too challenging. As should be obvious, it's pretty much uphill the whole way to Arethusa Falls."

"If you are planning to hike the Cliff portion of the trail, it is not as well marked and has some steep terrain. As you approach the top, there was a fire so the trail markings are harder to find due to the damaged trees. The ground is also a little softer along the main path. Once you get to a point where you have to cross some larger rocks, the view up is impressive, but the trail markers continue to be less visible. Cross the rocks and just a bit ahead you will see the trail..Yellow paint can be found on trees but also larger rocks on the ground. You will reach a point where you are looking at the train tracks overhead, trust the signs and follow through the less warn path to the left. You will then be almost finished as you walk within the wooded path along 302 that eventually takes you back to the parkinglot. Enjoy the hike, it's a challenge, but the view is impressive! Not ideal for little kids, cliff edges are not equipped with fencing or railings like Cathedral Ledge."

"Nice hike with around 800 feet of elevation gain. The Bemis Brook trail has a couple nice waterfalls and Arethusa Falls is spectacular. The climb from Bemis Brook Falls up to the Arethusa Falls trail is steep and the footing is challenging - would not recommend descending this trail as a misstep could result in a nasty fall."

"I went on a nice 4 mile hike through here. some of the best views I have ever seen! the hike was hard at times but for the most part it wasn't that bad! completely worth it! if you have ever gone hiking in the white mountains you will understand the others you will be hiking with, everyone hiking are super kind people!"
