"Wonderful to time travel back to the history of Vermont and its settlers. They even have a blacksmith shop on site. Donations are appreciated. There is a very dedicated group of volunteers keeping everything going."
"We made a stop at the society as my three sisters and I are directly related to the Bowen's that inhabited Windsor County, Vermont in the 1800s. We got a great reception from Ellen and her staff and she provided lots of historical information on the Bowen's especially the graveyards they were buried in and an old Bowen homestead on Bowen Hill Rd. We visited as many of the graveyards as time permitted. We especially enjoyed the tour of the house and barn. They have an amazing collection of historical "stuff" especially in the barn. We loved the portable "cobbler's workbench" and horse-drawn hearse."
