"It was a cool trail. The waterfalls are a nice touch. Felt like there was a lot to see and overall the trail is well kept and easy to follow."
"An off road, bumpy ride to get to this lovely preserve that spans New Gloucester and Auburn. Trail map signs are available periodically, recommend snapping a photo as there are a bunch of intermingling color trails. We took the first yellow trail which followed a nice babbling brook. Definitely need strong grips when walking there in winter, very compacted down snow and ice trail. Not much of any extreme incline or decline, rolling wooded trails that should be manageable for most. Our dog lovedddd it. We came across a porcupine sleeping probably 30ft up a tree. We ended on the blue trail to see the falls. Another really nice little loop back toward the parking area. Nothing Niagra-esque but relative for the area, solid babbling. Off the beaten path, but a lovely spot for a few miles of trails. Small parking area only fits about three cars."
"For those familiar with waterfalls, rime of year plays a big part into how beautiful the falls will be. My recent trip with my family was in early July and therefore we had appropriate expectations on the falls. A large part of the loop looks like an old logging road that is being reclaimed by nature. A section of the trail, that shoots off the logging road on the right follows a Brook which leads to the falls. This part of the trail is a wooded path and quit nice.. While unfamiliar with the geology of the area the boulders along the brook are definite remnants from Maine’s glacial past This trail does show the potential of being very nice in the late spring early summer when indications along the trail are for small streams making there way to the brook and the brook being quit swollen. This may be a nice fall hike also. Overall the trail is easy but some sections with rocks and roots could result in a turned ankle if not paying attention."
"Great place for a walk. Easy/Moderate terrain with some inclines and lots of roots to navigate around, but worth the effort. There is a picnic table along the stream for a perfect place to have lunch. Today was gorgeous and the sun was beautiful on the river ice. Parking is easily accessible at the trailhead with plenty of trail markers."
"Dog friendly trails with multiple route options and lots of watering pools and falls. But with all the water, it's pretty muddy this spring and some of the steeper areas are getting slippery. Dogs are required on their leash close to the homes and I didn't see any trash cans on the route so hold on to your poo bags. The last half mile of the drive to the trailhead is on a dirt road and the parking was very limited. I'd like to come back but it was kinda out of the way so I'll have to get an early start if I want a parking spot."
