The Tenmile River Demonstration Forest is a 530-acre parcel of land located in Hiram, Maine, United States. "Well maintained and marked trails - plenty to keep you busy for multiple visits. See wetlands, a river, lots of pine trees, beaver dams. There was one spot with so many birds I could hear non-stop the sound of wings fluttering around me. Not one piece of trash (let's keep it that way!)."
"This is an exceptionally well maintained preserve that's off the beaten path. Beautiful woodlands with a mix of upland and lowland terrain. Trails are well marked and maintained. Very rarely do we see anyone else when hiking here. Worth a visit."
"Never knew this wonderful trail system was here. A lot of work has gone into creating trails and more trails are in the works. Very good signage at trail junctions. Nice benches at several viewing areas. Ten Mile River was quiet and slow moving today. Good place for a picnic lunch. Bench above the pond is a good place to watch for deer and egrets."
"Nice day hike trails. Off the beaten path but not too far. Great bird watching, and blueberry picking (later in the summer). Interpretive signage and resting benches...love the one by the river at the end of the Tenmile River trail. Oxford County SWCD has definitely put some time and care into this special place."
