"Last April '23 I sent a card with $20 to my niece which her father picks up at his Bridgton P.O. box as I have done for years. This year it went missing. I had sent another card at the same time to a brother in Portland, Me and it was there in 4 days. So I send a 2cd card with another $20 to the Bridgton P.O. box which went missing. Again, I had sent another card at the same time to the Naples, Me P.O. which arrived. I filed a complaint with the USPS investigative unit and never heard back. Just today I learned my brother in Florida had also sent a card with $$ to our niece via the Bridgton P.O. It never arrived. So the Bridgton P.O. has an employee that is stealing mail. That is a fact. The USPS police need to do a sting to catch this person. Shameful. Anyone who reads this should file a complaint regarding the Bridgton, Me USPS office."
"Never heard of a Post Office closing on a whim….until now. They just throw a staffing problem sign on the door and that’s it. It can be any day, any time, any excuse with no prior notice. Why not just close permanently?"
"Often does not pick up my mail. Sometimes will deliver to the mailbox right beside mine, but won't pick up my mail. And there's no rhyme or reason to it. Sometimes the mail will be picked up the next day; sometimes in two days. But mail should not have to sit in my mailbox for two or three days (not including weekends or holidays). What gives?"
"Some of the worst service I’ve experienced in years. I needed help on how to register my new address with USPS. They won’t answer their phone. I go in in person and they won’t accept a certificate of occupancy from the town even though they said they needed a document from the town. I ask them the name of the document they need and they said they didn’t know. I go to the town office where they were so kind and helpful and gave me a random document because they didn’t know what the post office needed. The guy at the post office gave me a hard time about the document before even reading it. He then decided it was acceptable and said he needed to show the “post master”. The post master wouldn’t come out to speak with me, instead I heard them talking from about five feet away. They said the process would take up to three weeks as per policy and they wouldn’t let us know when it’s final and that I should call the number they don’t answer. This three week policy timeline is also false as they don’t know but went landlord did it a few weeks ago and it only took a few hours? Strange. Seems like they just didn’t want to help me. The guy at the desk took my number after I said when I call no one answers and it sends me to the automated national line but did say they probably wouldn’t call. Bummer."
"February 7, 2021. Without warning, one month ago, the Elm Street Post Office in Bridgton, Maine stopped delivering my Amazon and other packages to me. This is for all packages so far. It is winter, during the pandemic, and I am 73 years old. First I called the Elm St P. O and they said they could not say why my packages were not delivered or where the packages were. More than two weeks later, after they had marked the packages as "delivered", they told me they had them waiting for pickup at the Post Office. I sent a complaint to USPS.com and only received an initial acknowledgement, later a survey, and nothing in between. I order food and other items because I want to stay home, but they are requiring me to come in to the Post Office for my orders. They enter false statements on trackings such as, "Attempted delivery, will try again", or "Delivered". My driveways and the road to my house is kept clear. For the 3 years I have lived here, before recently, they have delivered to me. Many of the clerks at the post office wear clear plastic on their faces. Those face coverings are useless for filtering virus, and those clerks could be spreading the virus to anyone they encounter. It is insulting for them not to have warned me of this change and for them to place false statements on tracking when there is nothing preventing them accessing my home to deliver my orders. Defund USPS. It is a failure."
