"I work at a nearby office with a co-worker who has tics /Tourette's and is Autistic. Called our office and said "your dog is barking in the back and someone should check on him". I was confused and answered we don't have a dog, she replied yes you have an employee that barks like a dog and someone should check him. I was astonished that an office would call and refer to someone like that. Especially an office that supposedly deals with patients much like him. This is an employee who is productive and a long time employee with no negative history or issues. Yes he barks and chirps and has other tics through the day, nothing menacing or derogatory, insulting, or cursing. He works hard and attempts to refrain as much as he can, but a professional should know better that these tics cannot be suppressed, he certainly doesn't willingly make noises. We then mention to him that they called to complain, this makes him more anxious. Not very fair or kind or the type of care you may expect from a medical professional. Maybe it's just someone at the front desk, but they should be trained and understand the level of compassion the would/should be expected from a medical professional's office when referring to someone with a disability."
"Please, only come here if it's your last or only option!! I've been coming here for roughly 2 years and have been seen by 4 different providers who have all dx'd me with a different condition. You get comfortable with a provider, then they end up leaving. If you don't mind bouncing around between providers, this might be the place for you. If you are looking for consistency, go elsewhere!"
"This review is most likely going to come across as someone who is annoyed, frustrated, maybe even angry and that’s because I am. I am fed up of putting all my energy into my treatment only to not be backed up by my “treatment team”. If you can help it, stay away from this place!! I have been a patient here for over a year and between the doctors i’ve seen it saddens me to say NONE of the staff here has had my best interest in mind. To name a few instances that have happened during my time being treated here, my medications were sent to a pharmacy thirty minutes away from my designated one, with no explanation! While one psychiatrist I had took a personal leave, I was not made aware of this and went months without seeing someone. That in itself might not sound too bad, but when you are unstable and counting on someone, it’s detrimental to your well being. A couple months ago I made an attempt to make a formal complaint, after talking to who I believe is one of the higher ups (maybe an HR person? I forget who exactly) on the phone for over an hour I felt like the conversation was unproductive, and minimizing my experience. Overall being a patient at York Pysch has been nothing but anxiety inducing. For a place that provides care for people who are mentally ill or struggling it really seems like they could not care less about you, which should be very alarming! I really wish I had at least one positive thing to say about this place, but from what I have seen they are unorganized and straight up unprofessional. This is the experience of one individual so take it with a grain of salt if you wish, but if you are thinking of starting sessions here I would seriously consider looking elsewhere. Thank you for reading, and if you are still planning on seeking care here GOOD LUCK!"
"Terrible. It takes 3 weeks to get a follow up appointment and when you feel like your dieing or may want to hurt yourself it's unacceptable! They say they are the gonna fill your prescription but never do. They say they are gonna call you to make an appointment they don't. I had to go see my pcp because thses people could not do Absolutely Nothing! Pretty scary to know this is how they are Supposed to Help people. This place made my anxiety sky rocket! If you need help this is not the place to find it. Save yourself the horror of it all and avoid it !"
