"After reading the reviews I was reluctant to give this facility a chance, however my experience has proven otherwise. I reached out to this facility and was greeted by a wonderful supervisor Helena. I was surprised at her prompt response over the Christmas holiday and the empathy she showed during our conversation. If her spirit and kindness as well as her knowledge is a testament to the clinicians they have there, you are in good hands! Thank you Helena for your support, this has been a difficult time for my family and I finally have hope that we are getting it together."
"I love taking to the NP Laura F! She really gets me and listens to me more than is required of her. I’m always left feeling hopeful and looking forward to my day. The front desk deals with a lot of people, and reading all the other reviews seems like maybe other people were running late and canceling their appointments, but projecting it on Abelard. Whenever I need anything, if I can’t talk to my provider directly, they handle it within 24 hours."
"I've been a patient for both medication management and therapy for a few years now and I feel so lucky to be a patient here. I've had several providers and each one has been attentive and caring to my needs. In particular, Carley Lemay has been an incredible asset to my care. I've been seeing Carley for more than a year now. At other practices, I've had experiences in the past in med management where I felt like I wasn't being listened to, and pushed out the door with a med I was unsure of. Carley takes the time to explain in detail the pros and cons of each treatment (on a chemical level - which I very very much appreciate!!!), listens to my concerns, and is open to being flexible with treatment options. On a more personal level, she is incredibly kind and such a ray of sunshine and positivity! I always look forward to my appointments! While I haven't had to interact with receptionist/front desk as frequently due to COVID, I've always had pleasant experiences with the front desk staff as well. Overall, I'd highly recommend Abelard Psychotherapy."
"I started seeing Carley Lemay after my first provider left here. From the start i never felt connected with her. I missed my appointment because of technical issue and instead of asking the reason she preferred mentioning their protocol of closing my file due to no show with a ton of voice that she does not want to deal with me with an attitude. I called their receptionist to see if i can change My provider, even though she was kinder she simply did not care much and repeated their policy and backed her colleague up. I understand a provider can be very busy yet frustrated and this is a bussiness after all but if you don’t have enough patience and passion for something you do then simply don’t do it. All i can say i hope she could have some more empathy and less attitude towards her patients. If you are looking to connect with your provider that doesn’t only go with the rulebook but tries to understand you more then she might not be the one for you."
"I reached out to Abelard Psychotherapy a few months ago. I made an appointment with Dr. Heather Watson. Unfortunately, I ended having to reschedule (which I did two days in advance). The second time I arrived and had all of my paperwork filled out accordingly and was told by the receptionist to have a seat. After waiting about 45 min, Dr. Watson herself came to me and asked me for my name. She told me that I was supposed to wait in the other waiting room on the other side of the building and that she had another client to see. She didn't even bother asking me how I was doing or if I felt safe. Instead she told me I would have to reschedule. I walked out of there and told her I would think about it, as I was very upset with their lack of care and accommodation. I followed up and made a new appointment. I did not go as the more I thought about it the angrier I felt about what happened. Two days ago I called back to arrange an appointment with a new doctor. They told me I would hear back from Debbie to set something up. Debbie called me today and told me I would not be seen by anyone since I was a "no show" three times in a row. I didn't bother explaining to this woman as she would not have cared regardless. It seems as though this establishment mercilessly dismisses potential clients. I will take my business elsewhere. Thanks Debbie and a big thanks to Dr. Heather Watson!"
