Memorial Elementary School

Memorial Elementary School, located at 86 Intervale Road in New Gloucester, Maine, is a vibrant primary school that has been bustling with activity in recent months. From celebrating 100 days of school to participating in the Kindness Challenge and hosting a thrilling Read Across America Week, the students at Memorial School have been actively engaging in educational experiences and showcasing their new skills and knowledge.

Parents can now register their child for kindergarten in the 2024-2025 school year through the Memorial School website. Additionally, parent-teacher conferences will be held during the week of March 18th, either in person or via Zoom, providing an opportunity for parents to connect with their child's teachers.

During Read Across America Week, students enjoyed themed Spirit Days, a school-wide reading event, a book raffle, an author visit, and a Character Parade. The school community came together to make these events memorable and engaging for all.

In guidance classes, students are learning important social-emotional skills, such as handling disappointment and practicing self-control. Through discussions, readings, and activities, students are developing strategies for managing their emotions and behavior.

As winter weather may impact school operations, Memorial School may send home district-issued iPads in anticipation of remote learning days. Parents are encouraged to keep the iPads in backpacks at home unless a remote school day is announced.
