Alicante Restaurant & Lounge

"Went here last night this use to be one of my favorite places I have not been in about a year. Made reservations online, but they don’t tell you that there was a possibility you will be seated at a high top bar table with a reservation. When I inquired about why we were being placed in the bar, the hostess told me she has no control over that, and that is done by the owner. However, a party of two walked in behind us, and they were promptly sat in the dining room when I asked why however nobody had an explanation. They eventually did sit us at a low table in the bar area. It was extremely cold. It was extremely loud. In the past the service here has been amazing last night we had one waiter, who seemed extremely overwhelmed. I believe it was the manager that had stepped into help at one point, but she was less than helpful. The food has taken a major downturn as far as quality and taste. The risotto was bland, undercooked, and tastes like it was from a Rice-A-Roni box. Very disappointing experience will not be returning. If you are planning to go here based off prior experience, please know it is definitely not the same quality and service are awful."

"We had heard good things about this restaurant, but our experience wasn't very good on Wed 12/6/23. The lounge area was freezing cold, I had to flag down a bartender after 20-30mins to see who to give our drink and food order- it felt like I was bothering him because he and another bartender ignored me for 10mins but they kept looking over at me. Apparently the manager was milling around in the background as she made eye contact several times but never thought to come by to check on us- we were the only table in the lounge. One wrong dish was served, and the kitchen must've realized this 20mins later as a dish with 2lbs of cripsy chicken arrived with no comment. At the end, I had to walk the bill up to the hostess stand, it was at this time that manager showed up to see how everything was- to which we replied not good from start to finish. She immediately threw her wait staff under the bus without us sharing our issues. At this point, I said we're good, it's pointless to discuss this now and we left. You be the judge...Is this salad justified at $23? I think not. One and done...there are other dining choices in the area."

"Last visit was 15 years ago? Back in Mass for a wedding so we went back. The service was superior. There were so many excellent meal choices I was overwhelmed. From the start, everything from our drinks to the fresh rolls till the end was fantastic. The appetizer was the eggplant. I could have eaten just a plate of that and called it a day. My wife got the beef short ribs and I had the pork loin based on the servers recommendations. Could not have been better. Memorable meal. Will visit next time we're in Mass."

"Appears that new ownership has impacted both service and food quality. It saddens me that the last three visits at Alicante were disappointing. The chicken parmigiana was once my favorite dinner at Alicante until a couple months ago. Bland sauce, about 7 pieces of pasta and very little cheese is one example. Other folks in my party also noticed a significant difference. The once polished service is now inconsistent and sometimes absent depending on where we were seated. The bartenders were quick and responsive whereas the wait staff in the main dining room were noticeably slow. Even though the view is quite nice, it's not worth the degraded experience."

"Ww cannot say enough good things about this restaurant and the staff. They went above and beyond in serving us. Very cordial, friendly and efficient. The food was superb. The cocktails were equally as good. Bartender, Debbie, sure knows how to make great cocktails to satisfy. Hostess, Julie, was very friendly and accommodating and our waitress, Leah, was very friendly, efficient and accommodating. Even the owner, Chris, was friendly and obliging"
