Hallowed Ground

"What a great hidden bar! The entrance to Hallowed Ground is available both outside in the alley, as well as inside through Dire Wolf Tavern. We were able to snag spots at the bar and had an incredible time sipping themed cocktails and enjoying surprisingly good snacks. The bartender was also top notch - managing all the patrons but helpful with suggestions and making conversation. Absolutely would come back next time I'm in Salem."

"This is one of the best places in Salem. If you want to escape all the touristy witch stuff and just have a solid cocktail you need to come to this underground bar. Full of speakeasy vibes and a rotating cocktail menu, its a little oasis in downtown Salem. Tucked away bellow the very mediocre Dire Wolf Tavern, this place is really a treat. The better Bartenders here can make you one of their seasonal specials or just give them a flavor profile and they will whip something up that will be delicious. On top of this, at least in our experience, there were friendly people around ready and willing to chat with you. There seems to be a fair mix of locals and tourist wandering in and out of Hallowed Ground which just goes to show you how great of a place this is."

"We came here on comedy night. It was fun and gave us a locals vibe…while I was in my tourist witch hat lol good drinks. We didn’t eat here, but I kept seeing people order the wings and they looked amazing!"

"Fun place for a drink, out of a few things at “opening” which was over 30 minutes later.. took 3 times of them saying 10 more minutes until we eventually got in, pretty chaotic even for Salem October standards, out of a few options for drinks, was still a solid experience 3.5/5"

Our bartender, Sarah, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. She offered excellent recommendations that truly enhanced our experience. The drinks were well-crafted and delicious. Overall, Hollowed Ground is a must-visit bar when in Salem. Gives off ‘Speak-Easy’ vibes of the prohibition era."
