"Extremely disappointed, I wouldn’t go here for coverup services. I came here seeking out a coverup, my original tattoo it was black I understand it’s a hard color to cover but, it was a smaller/ medium size but not that bad. The cover up I had originally wanted was super simple and definitely could have been executed with in 1-2 sessions. When I expressed the cover up idea I wanted, the artist seemed unamused and wanted to challenge themselves and convinced me to get something more difficult. Now the coverup looks worse than the original tattoo and I’m getting it removed. I wish the tattoo artist would have just gone along with my original cover up idea although it was simple, it would have been executed nicely and been more dainty as I am a woman. Women’s tattoos are way different than men’s tattoos. Instead I now have an unfinished art project on my arm that’s been a “work in progress” for a year. If we had went with the original cover up idea it would have been a 1-2 times and done instead I feel like this was a money grab and now I’m spending triple the money to get it removed. I wish I never went here."
"UPDATED: Yes Brian I have the right shop. I understand every shop has its own policies but what I encountered was unprofessional. The girl at the desk was incredibly rude right from the get go when I told her what I wanted done and explicitly said “I understand, however I would like to speak with an artist when they have availability” rolled her eyes and told me to take a seat. She sat down too, not grabbing anyone. Didn’t offer to take my information, didn’t say “hey message us on Facebook and someone will reach out”. Just ignored me. For the record, I wanted to know what products were used for recovery, price point (I understand it varies) as it was a surprise for someone and wanted to buy anything they would need. I was told they had to have the person there as it was policy, understood. I DID have the location and size of the tattoo so again, just wanted information and an appointment. After about 25 minutes I think it dawned on her that I wasn’t leaving so she finally went and got someone. He decided to talk to me on a smoke break and babbled for about 5 minutes of irrelevant stuff. Then when he realized I wasn’t his therapist I told him my situation and he said “I’ll take your name and number and pencil you, let me grab my book” back in the waiting room I go. 10 minutes goes by and I ask the girl if she can take my information down since I assume he’s in a session. I got a big fat nope have a nice day. I am well aware it’s a tattoo shop, but you can’t write a number down or tell someone “message us on Facebook”? Turns out she’s the owners flavor of the week so that’s not only who he chooses to date but also have at his front desk, that tells me everything I need to know. All for supporting small businesses and artists. Because believe it or not I wanted to start my sleeve with the shop since I was impressed with the owners work. So my 5k can go to someone who actually needs it. Receptionist make the first impression and set the mood for expectations and trust."
"My fiancé and I went to Masterpiece Tattoo yesterday (very last minute) and Lary was our artist! He was absolutely fantastic in every aspect. He is very patient, personable, an excellent artist! The facility is beautiful and very clean. We will definitely be back!"
"Love them! I have done every one of my Tattoos with them and never disappointed. We went in for matching finger tattoos and they were awesome. This was my husband's first tattoo and he was impressed at how much attention was given to such a small thing. We are not going anywhere else. We've got some great tattoos planned and we will be doing them all at Masterpiece. If this is going to be your first tattoo, this is hands down the place to go. The staff is super attentive and check in on how you are doing and if you need a minute before continuing."
"I've gotten 2 tattoos from Masterpiece dating back 23 years. I'm currently getting a third....a half sleeve that incorporates the tattoo that is on my left bicep. Their prices are competitive. Go during the week to avoid long waits. I would definitely recommend making a reservation. I don't think they are as busy as they use to be since tattooing is now legal in Massachusetts. Very talented artists and the owner is great. Very clean and uncluttered parlor."
