"I give Bab's Auto Body a 5+ stars. Last Thursday I had a accident and crashed my car against a guard rail. I immediately filed the claim with my insurance (Geico) and they were great with everything from initial estimate, to having the money in my account the same day to going to visibly inspect the car for any additional damage. I am new to Gardner and relied completely on reviews from google when searching for an Auto body shop. I needed my vehicle before this next Saturday because I have to travel to Canada for work (and also commute to Boston every day). As soon as I contacted Juan at Bab's Auto Body he was AWESOME!!! He guided me through the process and promised to do everything in his power to have my car by Friday (the day before my deadline). Not only did Juan deliver on his promise but he kept me up to date on everything and had my car ready by today (Thursday) a day early. The work he did was impresive and even more, ahead of time. I would recommend Bab's to my family, friends, coworkers and everyone who will listen. Juan, again, thank you for everything!!!!"
"10/10 would recommend to anyone in need of body work, ESPECIALLY if you’re dealing with insurance that doesn’t communicate well. They get in touch with your insurance and get the job done very well and professionally. The work is fantastic and identical to my vehicle prior to the damage done, down to the decals!"
"So, my kids and I wanted to get a KitchenAid stand mixer painted for my wife’s birthday. Babs is down the street from my house, so we chose them. I dropped it off on a Thursday. I was told it would be done by the following Friday or Monday. They called me Friday, but I missed their call. Called me again Monday, and we picked it up. I got a fair quote. I asked if they wanted a deposit to get the work done, and was instructed to pay when it was completed. It was done on time, and looked absolutely amazing."
"I brought in a body kit (not some cheap $500 body kit, mind you. Even the owner said it was made out of a 'great' material) for my car and got back the WORST paint job imaginable! Two words: Orange Peel. Every inch of it was orange peel and the front bumper corners looked as though they had been painted with a paintbrush. A PAINTBRUSH! it made my car look awful!!! Then, to top it all off, after sitting in the sun for less than 20 minutes, the front just popped off on an entire section. (Pics enclosed) Every person who saw it was disgusted by the shoddy paint job and poor mounting. I proceeded to call the owner to voice my displeasure and he had the gall to tell me that the kit was made with this texture (no, it was certainly not. It was smooth ABS plastic!) that it was pitted like this on purpose so when 'rocks and stuff' hit it from the road AKA road rash, it wouldn't be so apparent. I called him out on it and all of the sudden he switched gears to 'You never asked me to make it smooth like your car's paint.' What?! 'You just asked me to paint and install it, so I did. You should have asked me more questions.' Wow. I guess I thought if you do this as a professional, I, the customer, wouldn't have to ask you to do the job correctly. After an hour of frustrated and repetitive non answers from him, he tried to get me to bring it back in and pay him $350 more than I already had paid him to fix it. I nearly agreed after getting him down to $200, but then a friend made an excellent point after I had told him what the owner had said. He asked me if a butcher said that their meat was ground daily and was always fresh had sold me meat that made me violently ill, would I go back and buy another steak from his shop again? NO. I wouldn't, so I didn't. *I would NOT recommend this body shop to anyone unless I secretly wanted them to get screwed over and ripped off.* Waste of both my time and money! Save yourself the hassle: Go somewhere else. Anywhere else. Side note: I got the call that my car was ready 16 hours after I had dropped it off. The next THREE auto body shops I brought this to to see what it would cost to get this terrible paint job fixed informed me that it takes 24 hours for paint to set and the orange peel could have been smoothed away by wet sanding and buffing it out before or after applying the clearcoat. My personal opinion? The owner thought that because I was a woman I wouldn't know anything about cars, I wouldn't notice what a mess he made of mine. Well dude, I did!!! Shame on you for trying to rip me off and then try to talk your way around it six ways from Sunday. SHAME!"
"Highly Recommended!!! Worked 18+yrs for an auto insurance company doing claims work and before coming to Babs, never found one autobody shop worth recommending. Babs is fabulous! Juan went over the estimate with me, came up with ideas to save me $, and the estimate was spot on! Not a 1¢ more! He also fixed the damage superfast and my car looks brand new! I can't say enough good things about this shop!"
