Meadowmere Resort

"We have been coming here for a weekend in February for over 20 years. This year we had two of our adult children and their families join us. I feel bad that we told them how nice it is. Meadowmere has gone down hill in the last two years. And after this trip we will look for something else in the area. The main attraction for us is the outdoor hot tub. Last year it was closed completely. This year it is broken. The pub is closed due to staffing issues. The nearby restaurant, Jonathans is closed for the season. ( Understandable) When people ask the desk for dinner reservations they are told to go to the Chamber of Commerce and ask ?????? Really? You can’t recommend a local restaurant? Pool was full of kids and no towels left. Mostly because locals pay to use the pool for the day. When we booked months ago we were told to ask for the 20% discount when we checked in. At checking they said “ Oh I see that note”. But then said they could only give us 10%. On top of that they charged our credit card twice. And we all know how much fun it is trying to get that fixed. Hallways were loud. People yelling and banging doors. Even after midnight. On a positive note. The place is very clean and well decorated. Beds are comfortable."

"You cannot go wrong by staying at the Meadowmere! So many amenities to offer guests and is located on the trolley stop that goes into town and to the beach. Outdoor pool , year round indoor pool, separate year round large outdoor jacuzzi and a separate large indoor jacuzzi very comfortable and relaxing . Arcade and a 30 person movie theater commentary to guests only . Full gym, sauna and steam room. Plenty of seating groups through out the resort for families to enjoy their visit. Restaurant available but limited times and menu, nice atmosphere with fireplace. Book the 2 bedroom family suites great for a comfortable stay. Enjoy it everytime we are in Ogunquit"

"... Ron, I wish you a happy 2024 as well. It would have been appropriate to compensate my family and I for the inconvenience and discomfort caused by the lack of heat. A public apology and promise to do better are lovely, but when the issue was mentioned at the front desk upon checkout, we were offered one $20 discount - not per room, but off the total for both rooms. Not cool. Original review: We had two rooms in the West wing (both with 2 queen beds), 4 nights for New Year's weekend. Meadowmere has a lot to offer: pools, sauna, gym, complementary breakfast on weekdays, a straight walk to town and to a Marginal Way entrance, friendly staff. All of its pros focus on outside the actual hotel room. In the room, it's completely different: the fridge couldn't regulate temperature so either my food froze or was room temp ... and its door didn't always stay closed; the dirty and moldy carpets gave me red, scratchy eyes; the room heater didn't work for both of the rooms my family had. Fortunately for my room, I guess, the light bar over the sink created so much heat on its own (not very safe) that it heated the room a little. I was offered a different room the first night so we'd be warm until the maintenance staff could repair the issue the next day. But it would mean moving everything, and I wasn't physically up to it and figured 1 cold night would be ok. Over the course of our 4 night stay, maintenance staff never came to deal with the problem."

"Nice place, great location, short walk to town and the beach (maybe 10 minutes). Lots of shops, bars, and restaurants, and a short drive to many more. Small pub/restaurant on site, outdoor hot tub and pool. Pub and concrete hot tub only open weekends off season. Hot tub is good sized. Maybe 12-24 person. 12 comfortably. Decent jets, but not great. Roman Spa. Very nice gym. Lots of machines, cardio, and free weights. Looks like they also have a movie room with 4 children different movies playing throughout the day,"

"The resort offered us late check out for a fee, which we accepted and confirmed. We returned from the beach to a locked room and staff who said late checkout was not an option. We were treated as if being dishonest, then I showed confirmation e-mail and we were allowed back into our room, but it clearly irritated the front desk. Breakfast was not good. Apple juice had fermented, a guest found mold in bread products. Housekeeping was great."
