Basin Campground

"The area is beautiful. But I did tent camping at the beginning of July and none of the bathrooms at the campground worked, which is what you are really paying for when you pay for a campground. There was a sign on the door to use a neighboring campground's bathroom. It wasn't close enough to walk when you have to go to the bathroom so wet had to drive there each time someone had to go. Disappointing"

"I loved this cozy campsite. It’s got about 14 sites and the restrooms are well kept. I would suggest bringing hand soap for the restroom as there are no dispensers or showers. The lake is pleasant when leeches are not present but we used an inflatable kayak and avoided taking a dip"

"Amazing park and campground on Basin pond! Many hiking areas nearby in Evans notch and The Caribou Speckled wilderness. An great base camp with nice big sites, and not too many to be crowded."

"A small, quiet out of the way campground. They have water and a flush toilet. It has a host and is clean. It sits near a small beautiful pond (bring your kayaks and canoes) and hiking trails. Be aware some of the hikes are moderate +. It's a great place to enjoy nature."

"This campground exceeded my expectations because it was small, clean, quiet, and very beautiful. I like quiet and remote places with fewer amenities. The bathroom with flush toilets, automatic lighting, and a sink was great. Having no other fancy things was fine with me because it meant a very peaceful, wild atmosphere. We got a walk-up site in the afternoon. Site four. It was good. All sites were wooded and pleasant. Short dirt road. Good daytime picnic spot. Lovely pond. Deer and stars and owls and loons. I look forward to returning again. I also appreciated being allowed to bring my dog. Don't miss the view at Evans Notch up the road."
