"It was perfectly sufficient for $20 a ticket. It is grossly overpriced for a low quality experience. The train and the station is the most magical part and the rest lacks creativity and imagination. Sadly it feels as though expectations are rarely met these days, especially when children’s wonder is being taken advantage of and commercialized. This is not aimed at the employees who are doing their best, but whoever is running this event must not have children or an understanding of how to put on a production that people will walk away feeling good about. Had just expected it to be fantastic, so we were disappointed."
"Very underwhelming for the price of the tickets. Spent $80 per ticket for first class plus seats, which we assumed would have included something, hot chocolate, cookies, anything. We were looking forward to what we thought would be a long train ride through the mountains to see Santa at the “north pole” but instead we were brought 5 minutes outside of town, past a trailer park and storage units to a pop up building where we can meet meet Santa. As parents we had to hype up the experience way more than it was, just to keep our kids excited about the entire experience. It felt unorganized and lacking customer “children and family” focused. Not recommend. I will note that the staff was friendly and my expectations were not high but just because it’s for charity doesn’t excuse the lack of customer experience for the joy of Christmas magic."
"Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the elf on the train giving the kids mint chocolates was good... Started off ok. We went to our seats. The train started moving.. Christmas music playing. Holiday lights. Very nice young lady (who did a good job) playing an elf on the train came and gave the kids a mint. Ride to the "North Pole" was short. Then you get off and walk up a hill to a theatre where you are tortured with a very boring, long and poorly done production. A bad Santa then walks around the seating area saying hello to the kids. Seemed to go on and on. Lacked Christmas Spirit. Seemed very "going through the motions" .. Felt like we were held hostage. Could have done way better with decorations, etc. Having Santa try to stumble through tightly packed seating area was stupid. No wonder he was grumpy. Would have been better without the play. Just stay on the train. Have Santa make an appearance on the train. Have a few elves passing out cookies and hot cocoa. Maybe some other entertainment on the train..."
"Goodness no. It is a great cause but a miserable experience. The kids are bored and the grown ups are tortured. A short, slow, jam packed, and crying baby filled train ride leads to a long and boring show, No child will sit still for the reading of “twas the night before christmas” in a noisy, crowded, mildewy auditorium. Oh and there is a single chocolate given out on the train, but no coco. Just dont do it."
