"If you are hurt and need help you can do better. Go to a surgeon that will see you sooner, go to one where an office has better communication, office staff that you can trust to do what they promise. By the time you can see a surgeon in this office it'll be a few months from when you're reading this. By then your condition will have gone from acute (ideal time to be seen) to chronic (missed the boat). Bullock is the one to see there - however he has up to a 3 month wait. Because there's such a high demand on this office, they have appointment people who are not medically trained. These appointment people will schedule you with any other surgeon, regardless of whether that surgeon actually has expertise in what you need. My story - multiple ligament tears in knee in December - because Bullock had a multiple month wait to see, the appointment person suggested I see Hoffman. I waited two months - February - to see Hoffman - two months that saw my injury go from acute to chronic. The day before the appointment, multiple people called me canceling my appointment with Hoffman. Apparently he doesn't have any expertise with knees! Only person to see? Bullock. Talked to his assistant finally - he'll look at information and she'll get back to me. That never happened. I was told if I wanted to make an appointment with him I would have to wait for an appointment - which in February wasn't until MAY! Now that it's March that means June. Just to get him to LOOK at my knee. Fortunately, I made another appointment with a surgeon in Springfield - two weeks after calling there I was seen. I'm glad I didn't rely on Valley Orthopedic - I'd be 3 months in on an injury without even having been seen if I relied on this office. Along the frustrating way I talked to various people - all with different wrong information ("your ACL injury - Hoffman doesn't do ACL' - nope it's an MCL/PCL injury' reply: 'oh I'm just learning this medical terminology') and lots of promises - ALL broken - to be called back. It's not their fault. They were nice enough on the phone. Just extremely overworked, terrible communication between the gatekeepers that make the appointments and the people that actually know anything medical. If you do decide to use this office I recommend you: A - once an appointment is made ask for a note be given to medical staff to contact you - this may get you around the no-knowledge appointment makers - to make sure you've been given an appointment to the correct surgeon B - Diligently follow up/pester them - Confirm everything, if you don't hear back from them, call and call again. They unfortunately can't be trusted to C - call another surgeon at the same time so that when this office lets you down - they will - you're just missing out on a second opinion, not letting precious months of your life slip by. Good luck and heal well."
"Excellent experience over the past several months. I had clavicle surgery with Dr. Bullock who was top notch."
