"My wife needs cataract surgery. She saw Dr. ####### at Berkshire eye center in May to have the surgery done and we would be notified when it would be done.. Two months later, NO WORD, I (husband, David Mackey) stopped down to see what was going on. I was told, we will be notified some time in the near future. Now, 4 Months later (end of September), I stopped back down and was told they are going to reschedule everyone for Nov.-Dec. I finally received a call back today 9/22, to pick a date, which I did. In the past I've tried calling Berkshire Eye Center several times, including the extension numbers which all goes into auto mode, causing me to have to drive down personally, where I have been told by the girls at the desk that "they don't answer their phones there". I only give them a ONE Star rating, because I can't give a NO STAR rating. Pathetic"
"I have seldom given this much business to anywhere who consistently provides as much horrible service as Berkshire Eye. Today I put my foot down and refused to order through them again. They wrote down the wrong prescription for a contact lens I never used, which disallowed me from ordering them when needed them. The time before this they ordered the wrong lenses, sent them to the wrong place, then overcharged me and took 3 weeks to receive my refund. The clinic takes forever to both schedule and be seen, but also includes a 30 minute Wait minimum per appointment. Severely disappointed in who should be the leaders of ophthalmology in the Berkshires."
"I walked into the office and was waiting in line (there was nobody in front of me I was the only person in line) and the receptionist was just staring at me for like 2 minutes not saying a word. She did not wave or call me over, just stared at me. Finally I said hi are waiting to check me in, she gave a slight nod. This office may want to train their staff to welcome patients by saying something like: "hi, how may I help you?", or "good morning, I can help you over here." Just some basic communication skills can go very far. (10/10/22) - So I had a follow-up appointment and I couldn't believe it, the secretary was so rude again. I came up to the desk and she didn't say a word and then literally yelled "I NEED YOUR NAME!" I would suggest better vetting and training for staff at this location. Just basics, I'll give an example that you may want to train your staff with: "Hello, I can help you over here, can you you please tell me your name and date of birth?", Or "Who is next in line? Do you have an appointment today?" Or if busy we could try "I will be right with you as soon as I finish up over here". Unfortunately the only solution to this problem it seems to me is we need some eye-care competition."
"I recently had an incredibly positive experience with the Berkshire Eye Center team. The professional staff was kind, courteous, and responsive to my optical needs. The space was welcoming, safe, and clean and I am grateful to have found this location. Thank you."
"I asked for an appointment to get antibiotic for a stye after using warm compresses for 2 weeks. Instead a condescending nurse told me to do compresses for five more days and then to call for an appointment. Outrageous. Called a week later, now i had pain in my eye. Kelly answered. She started to ask me again how many times i do compresses. Again refused to set up an appt. She literally set herself up as a provider without a license, by providing a wrong advice, which is illegal. Finally i had to walk in and demand an appt. The doctor was wonderful. But this Kelly and whoever sets up these kind of policies should be fired. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen."
