"Ridiculous system. Needed to go to the urgent care because I had obviously an urgent problem. And they are telling me that they take only same day appointments. Ridiculous, if you are named urgent care means you will be able to take patients on the spot with minor problems. Ridiculous"
"Wow if you could have a more unprofessional medical experience I don’t know how the people operating this hotel must be used to operating out of Third World countries because the service and the quality of service is something that you think you would probably receive in Uganda. Rude staff who forget about you quickly. The emergency room should be called the chill room at Nantucket cottage Hospital. there could not be another soul in there and it will take 2+ hours before you were even seen. And then fingers crossed they don’t forget about you and taking you to waiting room. Could not have a less professional experience A truly horrible hospital"
"Trying to make an appointment for walk in (same day) care was very frustrating. I called as soon as the lines opened at 7:00 am and patiently waited for 35 minutes. I was then placed on hold again (with a new song this time). When I was finally answered the woman could not hear me and quickly hung up. No call back. This is the problem. I understand that it will be a waiting game to make an appointment but no call back? Let's remember that this is a FOR PROFIT hospital that pretends to be a cute little local place that relies on donations to keep its head above water. After all the money raised and completion of the brand new hospital I expected more."
"Excellent care for this size hospital. Dr. Lepore has treated both of my parents and is an expert on tick-born illnesses. I’ve been in the Emergency Department when I sliced my hand while filleting a fish, and also after my father fell and hit his head. CT scan is available and results were read by the mainland since it was midnight. My wife was treated in the ER after a sudden collapse. Care was respectful, professional. If you have a condition that is more serious - you’ll get sent to Mass General. I have complete faith in the staff at all levels. I am a Physical Therapist and have seen a lot in my day. These people have a special job to do and they do it well."
"If I could give a 0-star rating, I would. I had Lyme disease (not a surprise on Nantucket), and they put me in the ER for testing. They also needlessly gave me IV fluids. They were hesitant to give me antibiotics before the blood test came back in three days, and I was too dizzy and disoriented to argue, so I let them discharge me. Days later, I called asking if my results were in, and the person on the line rudely replied that I'm not supposed to call and that they would call me when the results are in before hanging up on me. I call the next day anyway, and the nurse went, "Oh, actually, I do have your results. They're negative." Then, hung up. I had characteristic Lyme symptoms for a week now: extreme fatigue, dizziness, random shooting pains, muscle soreness, etc. Lyme disease often does not show up on blood tests for weeks - up to SIX WEEKS. After that, I went to a CVS MINUTE CLINIC in Boston, and they treated me better than a full-blown hospital! I got two weeks' worth of doxycycline hyclate, and within just the first TWO DAYS, I was able to walk normally again. Finished the rest of my antibiotics, but my recovery took a long time because my symptoms were allowed to worsen. Now, I get random, localized pain like I broke a bone, and I have to hope that my post-treatment symptoms don't get much worse than that. If you think you have Lyme, go to Dr. Lepore instead! He is an expert on tick-borne illnesses!"
