"Absolute worst ER I have ever been to. My mother has two cancers had RSV, in and out of hospitals this year, we have been to many . The quality of care is horrendous. This week 6 hours in ER this does not include waiting room since she went by ambulance. 89 years old and she asked for one hour to be disconneted from IV's to go to restroom no one came. The PA she had basic knowledge for her care... we never saw a Dr. If you have a broken arm or need stitches and want to 6-8 hours for care this is your place. If you have a life threatening issue I suggest Boston. They will ruin Beth Israel Lahey name with the care offered in the ER. A onne star review is too much but I am required to give them one."
"By far the dirtiest, and slowest hospital I have ever been too. I took my daughter here for a hard time breathing due to RSV. She’s five months old and they did not rush, and of ease anything for me as a mother. There were dirty tissues all of the floor and trash can was over flowing. — they do NOT wipe anything down in the rooms after patients. I will NOT be returning to this hospital for any given reason, I will make the drive farther for cleaner & better care."
"Would give negative stars if I could. The people working in the emergency department at the Exeter nh hospital have very short patience and often interact with patients with a notably passive aggresive tone and are very impatient. Hospitals are the one place people shouldn't feel judged and should receive empathy and understanding no matter the circumstances. I wouldn't bring my worst enemy here. They need to teach their employees to treat everyone respectfully and if unable to do that they should find a different line of work."
"The worst ER I've ever been to. My nephew injured his foot we sat in the waiting room for 10 hours for them to do nothing for him. The waiting room full of all kinds of injuries and sick elderly for longer then we were there, they simply don't care. Just because you speak kindly to people doesn't mean your doing your job in an emergency room, people need care not to just sit around hungry and tired but sure enough the doctors had pizza delivered for themselves but no care they had patients hungry and waiting for help, nurses sitting around laughing amongst coworkers but not treating patients with the care they are medically needing....if you don't care about people and helping people maybe health care is not the career for you....this is outrageous that a paychecks empowers doctors to NOT do the job they clearly chose.....you are better off going anywhere else beside this hospital, they will just leave you sitting there suffering and don't care about your well being !"
"A distinction needs to be made here. This review is of the ER. I can't speak of the hospital. My daughter called me to say she had a very high fever. Could I take her to the hospital? At 5:30pm we arrived at the ER. By 5:45 she was in triage where the nurse took her vitals and administered a Covid test. The nurse said it would take 40 mins to get the results. We went back out to the ER and waited and waited and waited. After an hour and 40 mins I approached the take in coordinator and asked her what the holdup was. I explained that we were told we would have to wait 40 mins for the result of a covid test yet it was an hour and 40 mins. She shook her head, checked the screen and said 'oh jeez, covid'. Then said to me, 'oh I have to get a nurse I can't give you the results due to hippa.' Great. I already had the results. We waited another 10 mins. No nurse. I got up again and asked where the nurse was. She responded 'oh jeez, I can't give you the results due to hippa. Really sorry, but you understand, it's just crazy!' Then she got up and got the nurse. The nurse called my daughter, she got up, went to the nurse, the nurse told her she had covid and told her to put a mask on. Now, we had been sitting in a crowded ER with elderly and infant patients for well over an hour. My daughter at times was coughing and sneezing, but being careful at the same time. As soon as we got the results we left. We had enough. I don't understand how an ER can operate like this. It would obviously appear that the staff is overworked. But, honestly, there seemed to be no urgency on the part of anyone. It felt like you were in a slow moving train wreck. We were obviously not critical, but, it turns out my daughter did have covid and we sat in the waiting room for well over an hour with elderly and an infant nearby. There should be two separate areas. One for infectious individuals and one for physically hurt individuals. I would NOT recommend Exeter Hospital ER."
