"Honestly, if I could give less than one star, I would. Let me take you back to over a month ago when my boyfriend sent in a request for a renters insurance quote - as we are moving at the end of this month. He has (had) his car insurance with you guys and wanted to continue to use you. TWO WEEKS LATER, after the initial request for quote was sent, we received your quote (which, to me, is way too long to deliver a quote - but my boyfriend is more understanding than I am). My boyfriend reviewed it for about a week to make sure it was everything we needed and then emailed the intent to continue with the transaction. It wasn't until another several days to a week went by that my boyfriend had to call your office to inquire about the status of the insurance. The woman he interacted with appeared to have forgotten to send it out to wherever it needed to go, but did it that day. The fact that we were forgotten left a bad taste in my mouth, but whatever, it's processing now. We waited. And waited. For ANY communication to let us know we were all set. I'm not an insurance person, so obviously I don't know the process, but I KNOW it doesn't take several weeks to process a request. I have a relative that got their renters insurance completed (quote and purchase) in less than 24 hours. My boyfriend had to reach out EACH time we received any kind of update. He was told we'd get the paperwork (which we NEED IN ORDER TO SIGN OUR LEASE) by a certain day, and if it was delayed, we'd get a call. No phone call about a delay, and the due date came and went. I'm seething by this point, and he's irritated. We email, yet again, to see what the hold up is and are informed they needed more info. WHY was this not done prior to the due date we were given?! We're told that it's going to the underwriter and will be handled "promptly." Which to me, means a few hours to maaaaybe the end of the day. 24 hours we still didn't have our paperwork and now we're both livid. We move in next week and haven't been able to sign our lease yet. Then we did what we should have done weeks ago - looked up other insurance agencies, request quotes (which we got in minutes, by the way) and in less than 24 hours we had approved coverage with an email proving it that we can take to our new apartment when we sign our lease. And it's not with Duffy. Not only did you lose customers for renters insurance, but my boyfriend is switching over his auto insurance away from you. This whole experience was unacceptable. You may not be able to tell, but I'm generally a super laid back person...but this wasn't OK. My boyfriend had to take time out of his work day to contact you multiple times to find out the status of our renters insurance. It took over a month, and we ended up cancelling the whole thing even before it was complete. I'm sure you're busy, but this whole experience has been awful and I'd never recommend anyone go to you guys for insurance."
