ABF Freight

"Absolutely horrible company to work with. They don’t care about their drivers, awful customer service and leave you with a nightmare of a delivery. They took 2,200 pounds of flooring off of the pallet and put the cardboard boxes of Hempwood flooring half on the grass which is soaking wet because of all the rain we’ve had lately. All because they refused to go on the driveway because they’ve said they have had to replace driveways before from damage. I offered to sign a document stating I would not go after them for any damages and they refused. Instead the driver parked on the side of our road which is a blind corner putting himself and drivers at risk for an accident. The truck driver piled all of these boxes on brand new grass we just had put in this year, damaging some areas terribly. There was a spot just to the left with gravel which is where he said he was going to leave it after we spoke about the driveway part. Best part leaving the pallets and trash in the new grass. Horrible and awful all around and really created some potentially dangerous situations. Guy in the office I spoke to John was less than pleasant. I have run restaurants and catering companies for the last 10 years I know how difficult customers can be and go out of my way to not be a difficult customer but this was unacceptable in every way."

"Placed an order from a company that used ABF for shipping. 2 pallets of glass bottles of liquids. Showed a delivery date of Friday, January 7. did not show on Friday and contacted them concerning it being out in the cold over the weekend. They said it did not say "Protect from Freezing" on the bill of lading. When we inquired on Monday after not having received the order we were told they did not deliver to our area and were passing it on to another carrier. Forecast for Tuesday was low -16 and high of 6. I told them if it arrives frozen I would have to refuse delivery. He simply said that was my prerogative. Well it just arrived and it was frozen solid. Unfortunately one of my staff signed for it while I was on a phone call. I immediately called ABF to come back and get it as we did not want it and he said it was mine as it had been signed for. We are currently at 80 broken bottles and counting....needless to say we will never use ABF again and have suggested such to the company we purchased from. I recommend you think twice before considering them for your shipping needs. XPO, ADuie Pyle, FED X Freight, etc"
