"Fort Foster is a great park, offering a view of the ‘other’ side of the Piscataqua looking across to New Castle, NH and Great Island Common. Along with a great view of the entrance to Portsmouth and Kittery harbors, you have remnants of Fort Foster to explore. A large parking lot and a playground for the kids makes this a family-friendly park with something for everyone."
"Great place for viewing the sea and the whale back light house. If you plan on visiting around sunset be advised the the vehicle gate closes about 30 minutes prior and they will ask all cars to leave just after sunset. You can park just outside of the gate and enjoy the nice walk to the pier which takes about 8 minutes."
"A nice place to get a great view of the whaleback lighthouse"
"Fort Foster is our "secret beach" with few people than the beaches in the area. The waters slightly colder and you have to pay but the season pass is well worth it and honestly less then you pay parking at the beach a couple times a year."
