"Visiting Maine every year, we always make it a point to go to Fort Foster: if it's summer, it's all about fishing and swimming; if it's fall, it's time for mushroom and berry picking. But winter? Don't come here in winter, it can get as low as minus 150 Fahrenheit, lol. My favorite spot, the best place I've tried lobsters, is Kittery Point"
"Absolutely beautiful place to go. Weather your having a picnic or just seeing the sites. Beautiful dock that stretches way out into the water. Very well kept always clean and tidy."
"What a great place! You get to enjoy the beauty of the ocean, the gray sand beach, the pier, the lighthouses, and the trails on the fort. This place has plenty to keep you busy for hours. Although this was an early 20th century fort, the remaining small structures are mostly sealed up with limited access. The fort has ample parking with plenty of picnic tables and grassy areas to spread a blanket. There are rest rooms near both beach areas. An entrance fee is required and varies if you are a resident or visitor, but the fee is worth it!"
"So they charge $20 a car to get in and worth every penny and the hours as of now in May they are open til 730. Very much so worth the money and a visit! Excellent views all the way around, even though the Fort part itself is small for what is left. Still so cool to see and much to explore with the trails and paths there."
