"Amazing place from my childhood. Still great today. My dad knew one of the rangers who was helping hold the place together, great guy"
"One of my absolute favorite places to be. Beautiful any time of year. The space is HUGH. Lots of options for trails, picnic tables, even cast iron grills for cooking. Fishing, and canoeing are also popular activities for this space. Great for walking, biking, dog walking. Trails vary in difficulty. Lots of public parking as well. My go to place for a nature recharge."
"This is a great park to explore all the trails and relax by the sparkling water. I found the trails a bit tricky as there are many and couldn’t differentiate between the main trail and some of the off trails- ended up turning around half way. Still enjoyed throughly! Bring lunch or a good book and a comfy chair and stay all day! Cheers"
"Excellent park! Have never visited until yesterday despite living in the area for a long while. Massive pond along the trail that offers some nice views and picnic tables. Lots of dogs here. Some of the trail has a lot of tree roots going through so just be mindful. Muddy and standing water in some parts but nothing treacherous. Ample parking."
"Ames Park is a beautiful park to visit. its tucked away near a residential area and if you are not local, you would not know its here. We were told about it because of our friends we stayed with. The park is very nice and quiet with lots of clean and well maintained trails. the main trail around the entire pond is fantastic and very long. There are lots of tables as well for folks to have picnics and spend time with families. The pond has lots of fish, so there are always people out fishing all around the lake. Lots of parking as well."
