"I always felt like working out was a chore, until I started taking spin classes with Gary at NYSC Allston. It’s a hard workout with a great playlist and a supportive group of regular spinners. Plus, Gary is a charismatic instructor who knows everyone by name, promotes intuitive spinning, and encourages all!!"
"I was a member for I few months and their equipment is great, it works fine, however, when I tried to cancel my membership they charged me almost 120$ just to cancel my membership,Poor cancelling experience in here."
"Horrible gym. The people who work there are nice, but the place is poorly managed and treats its customers like garbage. I would give it negative stars if I could. Finally had enough and quit. I only go for cardio. The machines that people actually used were recently replaced (not the endless other machines that collect dust). The old machines are stacked in the desperately needed parking spaces. The new machines have been there for over a week, yet have not been plugged in. I was told it will be at least another week. In the summer , the climate controls don’t work. The only thing that works properly is the automatic bank withdrawal for your monthly payment. Don’t waste your money and time. Find a place that values its customers or go to planet fitness and save the money. The place is clearly mis- managed."
"I hold two memberships, NYSC and PF. It depends what i am doing and what's close by. Gotta say though, this club is kind of too small for me. I am used to larger spaces venues with two - three machines of the same type. Although it's still top notch NYSC quality. Four stars are only for the limited number of belt assisted machines"
"Overall: A highly functional gym, which, with some changes and updates, has the potential be a fantastic gym. The Good: This is a reasonably-priced gym with good hours (opens at 6AM on weekdays), great covered parking right in front. The footprint is large - there's a spacious weight room, another large room with a mix of cardio and weight machines, a third, open space with artificial grass used mostly for stretching, ab-work, etc, and then squash courts. The space is inviting and airy - loft style, exposed brick, tall ceilings, and some natural light are all great. It feels as though there is a sufficient supply of equipment such that even when it's busy, I don't have to wait more than a few minutes for something and can usually just switch to a different exercise while I wait. The locker rooms have a sauna, changing area, and showers. The crowd skews towards what I guess are young professionals - 20's and 30's, but there's a mix of older people there too. As a fairly novice gym-goer, although there are some pretty serious folks there, it's not an overly intimidating environment. The grunting and mirror selfies are fairly rare - most people seem pretty focused on getting their workout in and moving on with their day, which I love. People usually wipe down their equipment, and it's a generally pleasant environment. The Bad: The equipment - basically everything other than the grassy room - is outdated and needs to be replaced. There's not a single elliptical that is not damaged in some way. From missing plastic frames on the water bottle holder or screen, to non-functional mounted TV's, to frames that are falling apart, it's a mess. Today the elliptical I was on was clicking so loudly I thought the machine might just implode. So too, many of the weight machines are peeling, felt is falling out. The benches and machines creak in pain when you try to adjust seat heights or angles. The sauna's wood is cracking and splintering, there are no hooks left outside the sauna. The showers are generally average to gross in terms of hygiene. I'm not a diva and at the end of the day, I continue to workout here - it gets the job done. But given the volume of activity this place gets, it's well overdue for an upgrade, and if it got one, it would truly be a phenomenal gym."
