"This is a tough review. I have used chalmers since I bought my house so it's been some years. I continued with Chalmers once I started my business. Unfortunately when it comes to paying for something like insurance I intend to never use but am requited by the state I don't want to over pay. My policy increased significantly this year, and when talking to other business owners in the same field they said it was a pretty abnormal increase. So I got some quotes using the same numbers and information and of course Markel the company we were using had a significantly lower and much more reasonable quote for the same coverage. I spoke with my business agent at Chalmers who stated the policy couldn't be changed, I called Markel and they informed me that being in existing customer they could cancel the current policy and re instate the new policy but I had to go through my agent. I called back to Chalmers and was told that police's can not be cancelled mid term or some nonsense, my bill in December that I paid was a renewal not a regular bill something like that. So I called Markel to ask about mid policy changes and they confirmed absolutely that they could do that. Having been lied to for what I assume were financial gain reasons. Markel and Memic both lost their policies with me through Chalmers. Once my vermont mutual policy comes up sadly I'll be cutting all ties with Chalmers. Insurance agents get a bad rap for being liars and thieves and sadly this one rep is going to cause me to cancel all of my policies with Chalmers, not take up the vehicle policies they keep asking to do and not take up umbrella. My first agent Carla has been amazing, but the business rep ruined their business for me."
