"I spent less than 1 year here (1 school year); 7th grade in 1958. I had my 12th birthday here. I lived at 431 First Avenue. It was the only year I spent the winter with snow. I was a Navy brat; my father worked at Quonset Point, the home of 2 small carriers. Dad was stationed on the USS Leyte. I had my first (and only) sled and ice skates. I used to enjoy rocketing down the Division Street hill on my sled and then turned into our driveway at the bottom of the hill. I remember only two classmates' names: Terry Miller and Robert Rombaugh. It was a fun year for me. I never lived more than 3 years anywhere we went, so I can't really say I have a home town."
